Robotics Self-paced Scope and Sequence This scope and sequence is set up so that the student groups can advance at their own pace once the groups have an understanding of how to program their robot using the computer and the Mindstorms Edu NXT software. Week 1: Getting Started 1. Introductions 2. Goals for Club 3. Club Procedures and Expectations 4. Begin sorting robot parts Week 2: Sorting/Building 1. Review Procedures and Expectations 2. Continue sorting robot parts 3. Begin building Robot using booklet provided (pages 8-22) Week 3 & 4: The Build 1. Announcements 2. Begin/Continue building the robots using booklet provided (pages 822) Once a group finishes building their robot, they can begin building the sensor attachments and begin programming their robots using the directions in the booklet. (pages 23-68) When all groups have finished building their robots, you may want to proceed to programming the robots using the laptops. You will probably want to work through the first few programs together as a club. Once you feel your groups are ready to proceed on their own, print out the Robotics Skills Checklist below for each group and allow them to continue at their own pace.
