Description of Previous Programme: Please provide a full description of your previous programme of work carried out and
indicate how it is equivalent to that required by the ESRC Postgraduate Training Guidelines (i.e. that it gave you a broad
training in social science research methodology including quantitative and qualitative skills.) Other relevant training

Please outline the overall goals and timeline of the proposed research project. This should focus on the logistics of the research,
rather than its theoretical or intellectual content including when you intend to spend time working within the partner organisation.
You must also give details of any language training and fieldwork that will be necessary for you to undertake in order to carry
out your research studies. Those receiving a studentship will only be eligible for extra funding for overseas fieldwork and difficult
language training if they include details in their proposal. Please include approximate duration and locations involved.

Please give a description of your proposed research project. Please include in your proposal how the project will benefit
both the collaborating partner and yourself, in terms of the process and outcomes of research, (both intellectual and
practical benefits/ outcomes). Please also refer to the Definition of Collaborative Studentships:

references, be set at minimum 10 font type with margins a minimum of 1cm.
Please note that studentships will be allocated on the basis of project proposed. It is a condition of the award that
significant changes to the title and/or focus of their research need to be approved. Although some changes will be
expected as the project is developed, a radical change of topic or direction will not normally be sanctioned.
