In this experiment you will find out what a firework is. You will need to make careful observations.
Equipment
 One party popper
 One sparkler
 Eye protection
 Match or splint to light the sparkler
 Heatproof mat
 Bucket of cold water for the burnt sparkler.
What you do
1. Fire the party popper upwards.
2. Watch what happens.
3. Write down in the table what you saw, smelt and heard.
4. Clear up the paper from the popper!

Hold the sparkler over the heatproof mat.
When the sparkler goes out, put it in the bucket of cold water.
