Real Projects for Real Clients Curriculum:
Proposed NSF Initiative: David Klappholz
• Team-project oriented undergraduate CS curriculum
– Learn by doing requirements, risk management, team performance,
V&V, as go through Web programming, database, etc. courses
– Being implemented at Stevens with USC support
– Broad-based group of early-adopter universities and colleges
– Goal to increase recruitment of women and minorities into CS
• Looking for industry support
– Serve as project clients
– Give talks in courses and faculty training sessions
– Encourage colleges to adopt real projects curriculum
