DAY 3 *Vocab quiz (15 min.) *Give intro to movie El Norte with background for first 20-30 minutes (10 min.) *Watch El Norte (remainder of class) *Each group discusses a question about poem “Where *Lotería (game with you from?” vocab and (10-12 min.) definitions) (15 min.) *Groups present in a whole class *Explain journal discussion (jigsaw expectations effect) (5 min.) Each group should rotate through three stations on Day 5, but not Station 6. (15 min./station). *Continuation of Family Immigration Activity with two more stations (30 min.) **CAUTION** This movie contains some strong language that you may wish to edit out. *On their way out, students receive a family assignment that tells them who is in their family (their small group) and gives them their family situation. 7 The stations are as follows: 1.
