Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Director of Redfield Campus is responsible for updating, implementing and refining the Redfield Campus long-term strategic vision and overseeing the staff and operation of the Redfield Campus with final approval by the Provost. The individual develops collaborative relationships within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), business/industry and the community for mutual benefit and participation in developing Redfield Campus—both growing programs and financial support. The Director is responsible for budget preparation, day-to-day operations of the Campus, report writing, oversight of accounting functions and for interacting with students, community members, donors and faculty and staff at all levels of the University. The position reports to the Vice Provost of Extended Studies. 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. Level of Freedom: Decisions and judgments made and undertaken by incumbent set the tone for the learning experience and success of operations at the Redfield campus. For example, the Director determines and sets policies and procedures for operations and high customer service by employees and staff at the facility. The incumbent is responsible for safety and security of employees and students and is the primary contact for emergencies on site. The Director works as a partner with TMCC staff and its students and with external university customers using the facility. The incumbent must work with limited supervision at an outlying physical location from supervisor and with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Impact: The incumbent establishes standards and makes hiring decisions that directly affect campus activities and ultimately the satisfaction of the students and community and the University’s ability to grow the Redfield Campus.
