Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Coordinator of Training and Documentation is responsible for the development and documentation of all student information system functional training materials and the development of business process guides for the PeopleSoft Student Administration System for the Division of Enrollment Services. This position is responsible for coordinating all end-user training for Enrollment Services as well as all University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) faculty and staff. The position reports to the Assistant Registrar for Student Information System Management and Operations. 2. List the major responsibilities, including percentage of time devoted to each. Provide enough detail to enable a person outside the department to understand the job (percentage first with heading and then bulleted information). 60% - Training Evaluates Enrollment Services’ and campus functional users’ student information system training needs Trains staff in Admissions and Records in the functional use of the student information software Works with the Associate Registrar for Student Information Systems and Functional Analysts to identify ongoing training needs to minimize data entry errors Coordinates campus wide student information system end user training Serves as a primary contact for faculty and staff with system questions, works to resolve issues, and reports potential bugs to the Associate Registrar for Student Information Systems Collaborates with campus end users to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of interdepartmental student enrollment workflow Identifies potential changes in operating policies and procedures as a result of software limitations/capabilities Guides Enrollment Services in the development and use of best practices and services to students and faculty Coordinates campus Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) training and monitors compliance 40% - Documentation Develops training and documentation materials for Enrollment Services and campus functional end users Documents business process requirements for Admissions, Records, and PeopleSoft Self Service Participates in the development of business process solutions to insure maximum effectiveness of enrollment services processes Maintains shared communication sites for end user training Participates in the collection of student, faculty and all end user input for the improvement of student enrollment business processes Position Description – Coordinator, Training and Documentation Page 3 3. Impact: The impact of poor decision making directly affects the university’s ability to recruit, enroll, and graduate students from the university. Failure to provide effective training to end users could result in high error rates in data entry and delays in processing student records, resulting in student and faculty dissatisfaction and poor student retention. 4.
