College of Human Sciences & Education Office of Sponsored Research Notice of Intent 21st Century Community Learning Center The LSU College of Human Sciences and Education has submitted a proposal to the Louisiana Department of Education, in conjunction with area schools, to create a 21st Century Community Learning Center on this campus. The mission of the program is to provide academic enrichment and remediation to high school students, while creating a college-going experience for them. The LSYOU 21st CCLC will include a middle school math (STEM) club through a partnership with the LSU Mathematics department; a high school environmental science (STEM) program through a partnership with the LSU College of Coast and Environment; and a high school remediation, tutoring and credit recovery program aligned with the core standards of the high school subjects in which the students are enrolled. The students will be selected from the following high schools: Capitol Friendship Academy, West Feliciana High School, Baton Rouge High, Lee High School, Scotlandville, and Woodlawn High School.
