COMMITTEE OR LIAISON: Long Range Review and Planning
DATE & LOCATION OF MEETING: Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 219 Peabody Hall

SUMMARY:
1. Reported back to committee on the tweaks the Executive Committee provided for the Mission.
The Louisiana State University Staff Senate promotes and protects the welfare of the LSU Staff
by representing interest of and issues impacting all staff members.
2. Committee developed the Vision and has passed on to Exec for approval.
The Staff Senate seeks to enhance its visibility as a vital governance organization, recognized
as the voice of the LSU staff. The Staff Senate will be an essential partner in University
planning and viewed as a valued resource by the administration when critical decisions are
made that affect staff members. The Staff Senate seeks to continually support the vision,
mission, and Flagship Agenda of Louisiana State University.
NOTE: The mission (and vision) will not replace the already developed Statement of Purpose,
rather accompany said statement.
3. Committee discussed the Senate team building activity/lunch day in January and plan to assist
Exec with the discussion with the full Senate in the next Senate meeting.
4. Next meeting scheduled for December 10 at 10 a.m. in 219 Peabody.
