Presidential Politics: Primary 2016 Research and Campaign Commericial Students will be choosing one of the presidential candidates running for the Republican, Democratics, or 3rd Party Nomination. Research will be conducted to identify themes of the campaign will the express goal of creating a campaign ad commericial for one of the candidates. Part A: Background and Issues (Must be turned in separately from the actual ad. Include parts A and B as part of your final project) Describe your candidates relevant background information (Schooling/Education, Service, Expertise, Connections, Mentors, etc.) What issues/values does your candidate choose to focus on (Besides foreign policy) Part B: Policies Explain your candidates policies from the list below: Economy: Taxes, Min. Wage, Budget, etc. Domestic Affairs: Health Care, Education, Immigration, Civil Liberties Foreign Policy: Military intervention, National Security, Treaties, etc. Part C: Media Messaging/Campaign Slogan Create a 30 second advertisement that either reflects your candidates qualities, policy positions, or stances on issues. You want to use compelling text, attractive images and symbols, or background music to enhance your candidate’s profile. (Finish the ad by exlaiming “Im____________ and I approved this message”) Requirements for 30 second ad: 1. Written text of the actual advertisement. I would suggest you write out a script. Then create the advertisement with your narration first before you transcribe the actual final text. 2. The ad must be at minimum 30 seconds in length 3. The ad must speak to the candidate’s profile or stances on issues. 4. The ad must include visuals that reflect the message 5. End with the approval by the candidate (your voice is ok) Due Date: DUE NEXT THURSDAY APRIL 28TH When you research your candidate use any reputable source and make sure to cite your sources.
