Courses available to exchange students (please kindly provide course list) 1) Enrolment application form 2) HK study visa application form 3) Student Residence Halls application form for undergraduates 4) Fee payment form The above application forms can be downloaded at http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/~intl/student_02_01_04.php For academic enrolment: 1) Official transcript 2) For non-native English speaker, English language proficiency proof (e.g. TOEFL or IELTS) For study visa application: 1) Copy of passport 2) Financial proof (e.g. bank letter stating a saving balance of around US$5,000 or equivalent amount for study of 1 semester) All foreign passport holders must apply for study visa for their exchange study in HK. Students do not need to arrange it at the Chinese embassy / consulate in their home country. The HKBU International Office arrange with the HK Immigration Department in HK on their behalf. Students should submit the study visa application forms with a copy of their passport and financial proof to HKBU International Office. When the visa is approved by the HK Immigration, the HKBU International Office will send the visa to student’s home address. It usually takes 4~6 weeks to process. Application fee will be charged to students accordingly. If students cannot arrive on the expected arrival dates, they have to make their own transportation arrangement to campus. Detailed instructions on public transportation will be provided in due course. Halls fee in 2008/09 is HKD5,805 (fall semester), HKD6,615 (spring semester), HKD12,600 (full academic year). Housing application should be sent along with the enrolment application to the HKBU International Office. Students should check with their home institutions and/or insurance agents about medical and accident insurance coverage. If the home insurance policy covers the concerned student for his/her overseas study, he/she should retain it. If that is not the case, please remind the student to negotiate for coverage of his/her overseas study in HK (including personal trips outside HK) before travelling.
