TO THE FACULTY SPONSOR: Please evaluate the intensive Summer Foreign Language study
proposal submitted by this applicant. You may respond on this form, or on a separate sheet,
identifying sections with the relevant number codes. First, identify (1) the applicant’s name, (2) the
Summer Program name, (3) your name and departmental affiliation. Then, provide brief
evaluations of (4) how long and in what capacity you have known the applicant; (5) the
significance of the Summer Language program and training to the advancement of the applicant’s
professional goals; (6) if known, the quality and rigor of the Summer Program selected by the
applicant; (7) the applicant’s linguistic background and capacity to complete the program
successfully, and (8) a professional evaluation of the applicant in comparison to others whose
work you direct or have directed.
