Sunburst Script
There have been a lot of people asking about Sunbursts lately, so
we want to explain this exciting new program to you!
We think there is a lot of great behavior here at Sunrise. And we wanted to find a
way to acknowledge that behavior. So from now on, students who are caught being
Safe, Respectful, or Responsible by a staff member have the opportunity to earn a
Sunburst.
Sunbursts will be given out randomly by all staff--classroom teachers, classified
staff, assistants, secretaries, & administrators. You can earn a Sunburst for
following the school expectations.
If you get a ticket, fill it out and turn it in to the bucket at lunch. Students will be
acknowledged in some really exciting ways:
There will be drawings done randomly and those students drawn have the chance to
win really cool prizes. You could win anything! We have a bunch of stuff to choose
from.
As each lunch reaches a target amount of overall tickets, there will be a reward
for the entire lunch!
We will also keep track of how many tickets everyone in the school has earned and
there will be a school-wide celebration when we get to our final goal-so stay tuned
for more information about that!
There are some things you should know…There are a lot of students and even
though the staff is committed to handing out tickets, there will be many times
that you are thanked for your behavior instead of getting a ticket. The tickets will
be given out in a random fashion for meeting high expectations.
Also, you absolutely may not solicit tickets for yourself or other people. If you see
someone doing something that you want to acknowledge, then you can fill out a
spark award.
We are really excited about this chance to acknowledge the excellent behavior we
see here at Sunrise.
