ENTRY to the competition is FREE and is open to anyone. An eligible entrant must agree to abide by
these terms and conditions.
PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
Each entrant can submit up to five photographs. The photographs must be emailed to Fifi Meyer
(fifi.meyer@eskom.co.za). Any photograph submitted must be the entrant's own work. The photo
must be either a digital photograph or a high quality scan.
SUBJECT: Photographs must include the theme of water at Ingula - wildlife, plants, landscapes and
details, man & nature, man’s impact on nature (positive or negative). The photographs must have
been taken within the geographical boundaries or immediate vicinity of Ingula.
VERY IMPORTANT: CAPTIONS OF PHOTOGRAPHS: Photographs must be accompanied by a
description of the subject matter, location, date (to within a month) and name of photographer.
CONSENT & COPYRIGHT
The entrant must be the sole author and owner of the copyright. By entering your photograph into the
competition, you grant to Eskom the non-commercial non-exclusive right to use your images for
promotion of the Ingula Project in any media. Should Eskom want to use awarded images for
commercial publications, this will only be done with prior written consent by the photographer. The
photographer will be credited whenever possible. Entrants must not infringe on the privacy rights,
copyright or other rights of any person.
DIGITAL CRITERIA
Photos must be saved as JPEG
Files must be no larger than 10 MB
DIGITAL RESTRICTIONS
Photographs must not be digitally manipulated at all. Digitally manipulated photographs will be
automatically disqualified. Digital adjustments are only acceptable if limited to minor cleaning work
(dedusting), levels, curves, colour, saturation and contrast work.
The faithful representation of what you saw at the time of the shot being taken must be maintained.
Cropping is allowed. Original files may be requested in case of doubt concerning manipulation.
JUDGING
Photographs are judged by a panel of at least 2 nominated judges.
WINNERS AND RUNNERS-UP will be notified by telephone and email.
IMPORTANT NOTE: No wildlife may be harmed in any way during the taking of photographs.
OUR RIGHTS Eskom reserves the right to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of
these terms and conditions. Should the quality of entries fall below the standard required we reserve
the right not to award prizes. Eskom reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.
INDEMNITY Eskom is not responsible for failure of receipt, loss or damage of any photographs
entered in the competition. Entrants indemnify Eskom of any responsibility in respect to damage and
loss to entrant’s belongings; death or injury as a result of the competition. The judges’ decision is final
and prizes cannot be exchanged.
