Why is it important to find the
right college?

You want to find the college that has the
program you need to get the job that you want.
– You don’t want to spend 4+ years and $100K only to
find out that you need to go to a different college and
spend more money to get the job you want.

College Admissions Requirements
– Once you’ve found the right college you can learn what
types of classes you should be taking in HS, learn what
type of GPA you need to achieve and learn what type
of admissions tests are required.

Financial Aid/Scholarships
– Now that you have the right college(s) you can focus
on those scholarships.

 USE YOUR SPRING BREAK AND SUMMERS WISELY
– Visit several college campuses over the summer or during
school holidays/breaks to make your initial college visit.
 MAKE A SECOND VISIT WHILE STUDENTS ARE ON
CAMPUS
– You absolutely need to visit the campus while students are
on campus. See if you can attend a class that you plan to
take and/or stay overnight (arrange w/ Admissions)
– Make these visits on Teacher Work Days and other nonschool days throughout the year.
