COMPETENCIES
Patient/Facility Preparation
The student should be able to:
1. Set up the radiographic equipment in the radiography suite for the examination.
2. Set up additional equipment needed for the ERCP procedure.
3. Inform staff of obstacles that will hinder the smooth operation of the radiographic equipment during the procedure.
4. Perform aseptic technique needed for the set-up procedure.
5. Enter/Annotate all pertinent patient information into the workstation and radiographic equipment (if applicable)
Manipulation of Equipment During a Procedure
1. Move unit appropriately
2. Manipulate image on monitor for proper viewing and orientation.
3. Maintain sterile environment while manipulating radiographic equipment around sterile field.
4. Demonstrate working knowledge of fluoroscopy equipment such as collimation, alarm reset, equipment manipulation, and image quality on for
the fluoroscopic viewing and adds comments and markers appropriately for imaging as needed
5. Assist physician as needed during the examination.
Post Procedure
1. Complete paperwork appropriately
2. Archive images to disk or film for interpretation (if applicable)
3. Dispose or return equipment and supplies to the appropriate area
