Agents’ newsletter May 2008 Working together in partnership How Exeter is improving its services and support for agents The proportion of students registering at Exeter as a result of referral by University-accredited representative rose from 36% in 2006 to 40% in 2007. In this recruitment cycle, the University has received over 100 undergraduate and nearly 1300 postgraduate referrals for 2008 entry from our local representatives, so 2008 looks like being another very successful year. The University is keen to grow its representative network in a sustainable way which means further developing the support we offer our representatives. We want to make sure that you have all the information that you need to best advise your students, and that you feel properly supported by the University. We also want to ensure that you are rewarded for the work that you do. Our first step in improving the support we offer will be to make more information on university admissions policies and procedures available online, in a password-protected agents area of the International Office website. The International Office has put together an online survey that aims to gather feedback regarding the services we provide for agents at present. The results of this questionnaire will help us to benchmark our performance against our competitors, and identify areas for improvement. If you have already filled in the Agents’ Survey, then thank you very much for your feedback. If you haven’t but would like to, then please visit www.survey.exeter.ac.uk/agents Key dates Accommodation update: 2008 entry • 30 May: Masters Scholar- Please advise your students to apply for their University accommodation online at www.accommodation.ex.ac.uk/eAccom Accommodation for the duration of programmes with INTO University of Exeter should be booked directly with the Centre. ship for International Students deadline • 30 June: Undergraduate applications deadline (made through UCAS) • 7 July: 10 week INTO pre- sessional English course begins • 31 July: Postgraduate accommodation guarantee deadline • 31 July: Postgraduate tuition fee deposit deadline • 11 August: 5 week INTO pre-sessional English course begins • 31 August: Undergraduate accommodation deadline Undergraduates Undergraduate offer-holders must apply for accommodation by 31st August to qualify for our accommodation guarantee.
