PLACEMENT MODULES ON THE
BSc BUSINESS PROGRAMME
“The BSc Business
programme on the
University of Exeter’s
Penryn Campus is unique
from any other Business
degree in the market.
It allows students to gain
a more practical approach
to business, undertaking
various placements as
part of the three year
degree programme.
This module will run in the Spring term of year 1. It will enable you to present
your learning and yourself in the best possible light to attract employers’ interest.
BUSINESS
PRACTICE
AND ANALYSIS
This introductory module to Business Practice will focus on the third sectors. It
will explain how in a mixed economy this sector plays a vital role in innovation and
service delivery, while at the same time enabling you to gain experience in fields
you might not have traditionally considered for future employment.
The insight and learning gained through this module will prove highly valuable
to you as you progress throughout your undergraduate and post-graduation careers.
This module will run in the second year. The aim of the module is to allow
you to link theory and practice in a work-based situation. You will have the
opportunity to understand more clearly how a charity, business or third sector
organisation operates, and become involved in the day-to-day management of
a particular project.
Unique to all Business School
students is the Your Employability
Skills (YES!) module.
There are 14 interactive lessons in
this online module, covering a range
of employability skills from what job would
suit me?, researching careers, writing your
CV, right through to interviews, assessment
centres, professionalism in the workplace
and creating digital profiles on social media
websites. Each lesson has been specifically
tailored toward Business School students.
These lessons are non-credit bearing
extra-curricular activities. However, each
lesson has a quiz at the end and if you
score 80% or above it will be recorded as
a completed employability activity on your
University of Exeter Exeter Award profile.
