Homework Due:
Cut The Deck
Created by Box Cars and One Eyed Jacks
1. You will need a piece of paper, a pencil, 2 six-sided dice and
playing cards.
**For this game you will need to have mom or dad take out all the aces,
kings and jokers. You will be using the 2’s-10’s and the Jacks (think of them as
11’s) and the queens (think of them as 12’s)
2. You will need to play this game with mom or dad.
3. Place the cards face down. Flip one card over. Roll the two dice.
4. If the dots on the two dice equal the card shown, you earn a tally mark.
Use the paper and pencil to keep track of your tally marks.
5. If the number of dots on the dice and the number on the card do not
match, flip another card and roll the dice again.
6. The game ends when you have earned 5 tally marks.
The goal is for the children to be able to start seeing groups within the dots and counting on to
find the total. We know that some children are already working on their math facts, so this is
also a great game to reinforce addition facts.
There is a video available so you can watch how to play the game if you have any additional
questions.
