Livestock Roundup
Overview:
The Maryland 4-H Livestock Roundup is an overnight event for 4-H youth interested in
animals – that is held in a fun, camp setting! It is open to all 4-Hers, ages 8-18 (as of
January 1st of the current year). 4-H Livestock Roundup is held in early July.
Program Highlights:
4-H Livestock Roundup participants choose from a variety of workshops in the areas of
beef, goats, sheep and swine; take field trips to area animal-related businesses; test
their animal knowledge skills at the Junior Stockman’s event; listen to guest speakers
and participate in a barnyard olympics and a campfire.
Annually, there are a wide variety of workshops planned for youth to choose from.
There is lots of free time planned too including recreation and swimming and other
activities to help 4-Hers get to know other participants in the Round-Up.
Program Cost:
The reasonable roundup fee includes lodging, snacks and meals, transportation for field
trips and activities, insurance, and activity costs. Registration is limited to the first eighty
youth to turn in their registration packet.
