Laboratorios CONDA was founded in 1960 as the first Spanish producer of Dehydrated Culture Media for
Microbiology and Molecular Biology. The company is now internationally recognized as one of the leaders in the
field and supplies key ingredients for use in research and testing, such as Agars, Peptones and Agaroses, among

Microbiology
CONDA is highly specialised in the field of Microbiology with expertise in the design and manufacture
of culture media. The company currently offers more than 400 different media, among which you will
find chromogenic media, ISO-formulated media and custom-made media, as well as ready-to-use
media in tubes, flasks and plates, specific ready-to use media such as hemoculture flasks, Dip Slides
(Pronacultures), Rodac Plates (Prona-Rodac™) and plates for water controls. We also
offer supplements and additives and reagents for bacteria identification.
Molecular Biology
To complement our Microbiology range, we manufacture specific products for Molecular Biology.
CONDA offers a complete line of agaroses covering all known applications: standard agarose for
electrophoresis techniques, low-melt agarose for DNA recovery and high-resolution agarose for
small fragments. We also offer dehydrated culture media for Molecular Biology, buffers, Pronakit™,
a unique kit for the differentiation of species, and Resins for Affinity Chromatography (His-tagged
proteins) and for the Immobilization of Biomolecules. CONDA has recently launched a new
line of PCR kits for the analysis of soybean and corn transgenic species (GMO) and for the
identification of commercial fish species.
Ingredients
Over 45 years of experience make us true experts in the whole development process of culture media and, for this reason,
we also offer all the necessary raw materials for the manufacture of media. We have a complete range of agars for
different applications (microbiology, food, pharmaceutical and plant tissue culture), peptones from plant and animal origin
(with Certificates of Suitability for BSE-Free assurance) plus a range of carbohydrates and glucosides.
Our Quality Commitment
CONDA continuously improves and increases its production to meet the highest
international quality standards. The company complies with the ISO 9001:2000
standard, and was the first Spanish company in this sector to be granted the
certificate in 1998. Our products comply with various international standards such
as ISO, the European Pharmacopoeia, FDA, APHA, USP and AOAC standards. CE
(European Community) marking was achieved in January 2003.
Our Quality Procedures
Strict quality control procedures are adopted by CONDA prior to, during and after
the manufacturing process to ensure quality products and batch-to-batch
consistency. CONDA also exerts tight control over the selection and treatment of
all raw materials and the various components (peptones, carbohydrates, minerals
and chemicals, agar and other additives) used in the manufacturing process. We
extensively source, select and test the best materials only for each application.
Physical-chemical characteristics are tested, such as appearance, color, odor, moisture, solubility, clarity, gelling, temperature
and pH. The media also undergo additional microbiological tests that guarantee growth, differentiation, biochemical
performance, recovery of small inocula, selectivity, etc. A quality certificate is always supplied with each product.
