What We Learned
This Week…
Dates to Remember
Math – This week we learned about rotational and line
symmetry, as well as how to find the perimeter and the
area of complex figures. We also reinforced our problem
solving skills by using visual thinking.
Reading – We continued test prep by summarizing and
analyzing text passages. We read non-fiction articles and
short stories and answered multiple choice and
constructed response questions about them.
Writing – We continued test prep by responding to a
prompt in a timed setting. Then we learned about the four
qualities of writing and how to make our response even
better by having structure, elaboration, craft, and meaning.
Science – This week we reviewed the properties of air, the
types of aircraft, Bernoulli’s Principle, and the four forces
of flight. We played review games to help us prepare for
our flight test next week.
Please be sure to sign and return the field trip
permission slip by Friday, May 2 .
