Alan Armstrong

Alan joined Rockpool as the business launched in December 2011. He is responsible for
originating, negotiating and delivering private equity investments and is a senior partner
on the management board of the business.
Alan has the combined experience of private equity investment and also owning and
managing businesses. He spent 12 years as an Investment Director with NatWest Equity
Partners (Bridgepoint Capital), prior to investing in his own MBI turnaround of an
international apparel group. As Group FD and MD of operating subsidiaries, Alan led the
major operational restructuring of the private equity backed group and oversaw a series
of acquisitions. The group was transformed to become a profitable brand-led business.
After exiting the MBI, Alan worked with a number of private businesses on the
implementation of business change and improvement plans. He has acted as CEO, COO
and acquisition specialist for businesses in recovery and development.
