Dave Rimmer
Director Commercialisation, Brunel University
Dave is Managing Director of DREM Ventures which provides Business Angel support and interim
management to start-up companies. From 2003 to 2009 he was CEO of Optropreneurs Ltd, the
management company responsible for setting up and successfully operating the OpTIC Technium, a
private sector Incubation and Technology Centre. Prior to this he was Director of Special Projects at
Thales HTO and has held various other senior management positions within the Optronics Industry.
As well as Manufacturing and Engineering Management he has considerable experience in product
design, technology transfer, and new product introduction. He is a past Chairman of the Welsh
Optoelectronics Forum (WOF), and has seen this organisation grow to over 100 member
organisations with collective revenues of over £1Bn. He has a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics, and an
MSc in the Management of Technology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
