Magnitude: 8.9
Notes:
It was discovered in 1785 by William Herschel.
It is 1 light year in diameter.
The central star has a surface temperature of 60,000o K.
Observations:
C8 at 206x. Very large and bright, with a bluish tint and a ring. The edges are fuzzy.
It has a NW-SE axis, and a 10m star lies 5 min S. The central star (11m) is occasionally
seen with high powers, where the nebula also offers tantalizing glimpses of detail as the
sky roils. At high powers (400+) some knots appear SE of the star.
