Astronomical League Program: Herschel 400 Club
Rating: 4 M
Position: 1908+0414
Type: Oc
Dimensions: 14'
Class: II 2r
Cluster population: 100
Magnitude: 7.5
Notes:
It is 52 million years old, with the earliest spectral type being B2. The brightest star is
11m.
157 stars belong to this group, which lies 23,700 light years from the galactic center
and 160 light years below the galactic plane.
Observations:
C8 at 83x. This is a double cluster, but nothing like h-Chi Persei (only 30 or so stars
in one group, 20 in another)! Nebulous looking. The E lobe is kidney shaped; the W
lobe is oval.
