Notes:
It is 40 light years in diameter. It is enveloped in the Rosette Nebula. It is only 8

This cluster lies 32,000 light years from the galactic center and 170 light years below
the galactic plane.

Observations:

bright Y star is 12 Mon, a giant (5.8m, 11,000 times brighter than the Sun), but the
brightest star is a bW giant. The nebulosity that shrouds this cluster is the Rosette

Observations:

Assumed distance: 13 light years
Assumed luminosity (suns): 0.000059
Observations:

Notes:
It was discovered by F. E. Ross at Yerkes in 1927.
There is a companion with a 16.5 year orbit that was not seen until Mount Palomar
was completed. It is about 0.10 times the Sun's diameter. The two stand 1.2" apart at
greatest separation. (At this distance, that corresponds to 3.9 AU.)
Ross 615A is 0.14 solar masses; B is 0.08 (80 times as massive as Jupiter) and
1/63,000th as bright as the Sun. (Only one lighter star is known— L726-8, each
