Notes:
This star is a spectroscopic binary with a period of 17.7673 days. Both stars are
ellipsoidal in shape (a fact deduced from regular variations in the light curve). The orbit
is nearly circular (S. Jones), with the primary being about 3.9 million miles from the
system center of gravity. The two stars are nearly in contact, with the larger star being 8
to 10 times the size of the Sun.
There is a 13m star at 96 @ 230, detected by Burnham in 1910. It is a red dwarf
(about 500 times fainter than the Sun) and shares the PM of the primary.
