This Week During Class...
Language Arts:

Spirit Week
Feb. 29th—Mar. 4th
In reading, we first talked about character traits. The students have to
infer these traits based on evidence from the text. We then moved to
determining the mood of the story. This is another time that we need to
infer. The mood is the overall feeling you get when reading the text.
We ended the week by reading a mystery and using clues to come up
with possible theories.
We began the nonfiction writing unit. We explored some features of
this type of writing and started to gather ideas. It is important to write
about things we are passionate about.
Math:
In math, the students took the Module 10 test. We jumped back into
Module 7 which is multiplication again. The students explored the 9 and
10s facts.
Science:
This was an exciting week for us. The students presented to the Lake
County Forest Preserve. The ladies who were here, were so impressed
with the presentations as well as the information that they
communicated. Some students also had the opportunity to present last
night at the Board of Education meeting. I was impressed with both
presentations and proud to be their teacher.
