Houston Community College Office of Institutional Research HCC‐Northwest College (NWC) Progression Reports for AtD Cohorts 2002‐2009 The following set of reports contain progression information for eight Achieving the Dream (AtD) cohorts from start to first year in developmental, through the developmental sequence, through relevant gatekeeper, and finally through completion of a degree or award. These reports are intended to show progression comparisons, trends and gaps. Only two cohorts can be shown on each page. Each cohort consists of first time students enrolled in college courses at NWC for the fall semester denoted as the cohort year ‐ e.g., Cohort 2005 are those students enrolled at NWC at the middle of the Fall 2005 semester. Student records would also include any coursework taken during the summer immediately preceeding their first Fall semester. In this case, NWC is the attending college for these subsets of HCC's AtD Fall cohorts, because the student attended NWC in his/her first Fall semester. The student will remain in NWC's attending cohort throughout the progression period, even if the student leaves NWC and continues studies at another HCC college. A student may exist in more than one attending college cohort but only if he/she were enrolled in first Fall semester classes at the other college(s). Consequently, a sum of all the students in all college attending cohorts for a particular Fall semester will exceed the total count of HCC's total AtD Cohort for that semester. Eight cohorts ‐‐ Fall 2002 through Fall 2009 ‐‐ are included in this report even though there are insufficient data at this time to complete the progression tables for the more recent cohorts. There are three sets of reports, one for each of the three developmental areas: English (writing), Reading, and Math. For each set, the sub‐group of students referred to the subject's developmental level are compared to the sub‐group of students entering at college level. For the three Math reports, the developmental Math section are further subdivided into the students referred to the first (0312/0112) and second (0308/0108) and third (0306/0106) levels of developmental Math.
