Outcome# 2 Students will demonstrate the ability to gain knowledge of basic legal issues that impact decisions made in the field and the importance of ethics when making these decisions. Additionally through demonstration and skills labs the students learned proper care of themselves and dealing with stressful situations while working in the field. Students were able to maintain a grade of75% or higher throughout the semester. Adjust lectures to include more interaction with the students. Yes. Encouraging a higher degree of interaction should increase student engagement of the topics. First module of class session is dedicated to the legal and ethical aspects of providing care in the field. Students were able to maintain a grade of75% or higher throughout the semester. Adjust teaching techniques to allow for more role playing that incorporates more legal and ethical issues. Yes. Including role playing should allow for a better understanding of the impact providers have on the patients and community. Assessment Measures Mock skills training that involve contact with a variety of patients (age/cultures) as well as transferring of care to higher level of provider. Assessment Results Students were able to conduct themselves professionally in the training sessions. Use of Results Effect on Course Plan to incorporate more detailed information on the different cultures residing in our area. By incorporating more information on the cultures of patients, students should better understand the need for diversity in their treatment plans.
