Program, Discipline or Course Outcomes Outcome #1: Nursing Program graduates will be able to coordinate, collaborate, and manage care using technology appropriately to work cooperatively with the client and all healthcare team members to achieve client goals NURS 274: Delegate and evaluate aspects of client care appropriately, safely and effectively to nursing assistive personnel, according to the NCSBN & State Nurse Practice Acts. Outcome #2: Nursing Program graduates will be able to practice using professional behaviors that are based on standards of legal, ethical, regulatory and professional frameworks NURS 274 Recognize and base Assessment Measures Students will complete a written assignment regarding delegation and evaluation of the delegation that is graded by instructors that are assessed as part of the clinical performance evaluation tool. Students will be evaluated by clinical instructors who will assess their performance against nursing practice standards and a published clinical performance evaluation tool. Assessment Results Clinical pass rate = 33/33 or 100% of the students met all proscribed behaviors as described in the Clinical Performance Evaluation Tool. Use of Results Students are meeting the standard of collaboration and management of care in this fourth semester course. Objective #8 Managing Care: Average score: 26.33 out of possible 28 pts; 94.04% overall success rate on this performance concept. The clinical portion of the course is graded on a PASS/FAIL basis. Students must meet a 75% requirement on the CPET which is leveled for each course. 33 students successfully completed the clinical portion of the course. Outcome #3 TMCC’s Nursing Program graduates will be able to use an evidence base to provide caring interventions that result from a comprehensive and accurate assessment of clients’ bio-phsychosocial and cultural status. NURS 274: Analyze assessment data to support clinical decision-making. Formulate a safe, accurate and complete plan of care; Exhibit an accurate understanding of the expected effects, and possible complications that could result from interventions; Make appropriate judgments and sound decisions in the management of patient care; Base interventions on a clear and accurate understanding of as described in the CPET. The NURS 274 Clinical Performance Evaluation Tool is published at the beginning of the course and reflects established standards of nursing practice.
