work. Emphasis will be placed

English language versus the use
of legal jargon. The instructor
will evaluate the student’s
performance of assigning a
numerical score which will
account for mastery of the
concepts as well as the clarity,
legal analysis, cohesiveness, and
grammatical correctness. The
measurement will be a numerical
score and written comments
indicating the strengths and
weaknesses of the case briefs.

advertising from an ethical

Assessment Results
Students will read the Rules of
Professional Conduct and
analyze at least five fact patterns
in light of the ethical rules.
Students will be required to
apply the correct rule to each
fact pattern and correctly predict
the outcome. All assignments
will be analyzed and graded,
including liberal use of
instructor comments. Emphasis
will be place on requiring clearly
written English language versus
the use of legal jargon. The
instructor will evaluate the
student's performance of
assigning a numerical score
which will account for mastery
of the concepts as well as the
clarity, legal analysis,
cohesiveness, and grammatical
correctness. The measurement
will be a numerical score and
written comments indicating the
strengths and weaknesses of the
memoranda.
Students will collect examples of
lawyer advertising and, in a
written assignment, rate the
advertisements for information
value, effectiveness in attracting
clients, degree of dignity, and
ethical issues. The students'
