Vision Services
Lions Club
New Eyes for the Needy in Millburn/Short Hills will provide a voucher for a new pair of glasses
provided the school nurse can fax. the original Rx. to them (current Rx. within a year). Student
must qualify for free/reduced lunch. Walmart Opt. Centers will accept the vouchers as will other
eye glass providers on a case per case basis.
Lens Crafters has "gift of sight" program; need to call them in your area for more info about this.
Of course if you are a NASN member, they will give the school nurse member a certain # of
vouchers for exam and glasses (qualifying factors explained with the vouchers); must not
otherwise be covered by insurance.
Below is the information on the VSP Sight for Students program. You can obtain up to 10 free
gift certificates for the eye exam, glasses and lenses. See below for the eligibility criteria for the
target families. You must belong to NASN/NJSSNA to obtain the certificates. The link is:

I'm not sure this will help get the glasses if they are not at a VSP approved vision site, but it may
help someone else in the future. How many kids did you screen last year that still did not obtain
an exam and/or glasses? This site may be the answer for those individuals.
