Reading/ Language Arts Social Studies When we come back from Winter Break we will begin a novel study. We will be reading Freckle Face, by Judy Bloom. We will also begin working on our Martin Luther King readers’ theater. Please save the date of Thursday, January 14th for our MLK Tea. Last night your child brought home their Social Studies project “This Land is Our Land” that is a research project. Some of the research will be done at school, however, some will also be done at home. The students are very excited about this project and blends well with our Geography unit. Mathematics Special notes This week we continued our work on double digit subtraction. We also reviewed telling time on an analog clock. We specifically concentrated on breaking up 60 minutes into equal quarters using a number line, we than applied that to telling time by emphasizing dividing up the clock into four equal quarters. Thank you for sharing your AMAZING children with me each and every day!! Happy Holidays!! Have a Healthy and Happy New Year!! Upcoming dates to remember: ** January 14th MLK Tea (Time to be determined) **January 15 Teacher Institute Day **January 18 MLK Day **January 28th Social Studies project due
