Permanente Prostate Seeds Implant Studies Using CT Fusion

It has been pointed out that prostate volume changes as time goes by with Permanente
Seeds implant. The dosimetry volume also changes due to change of anatomy and seeds
movement. In the past it is difficult to compare the change with time using plan x-ray
film. To compare the change through time, we have scanned patients through time, and
then fused CT images using ADAC treatment planning system. The number of seeds is
counted using the same system and volume of Prostate and Dosimetry were compared
using same fused image set. In general the major changes are seen in the superior and
inferior orientation and less pronounced in lateral and anterior-posterior position. The
difference of dosimetry using CT images scanned at different time are presented.
