C OMMERCIAL F LIGHT 1
C OURSE D ESCRIPTION
Basic commercial pilot flight maneuvers and complex/high performance aircraft systems and operations. This course will provide thorough preparation for the required FAA Commercial
Pilot check flight. Approximately 110 flight hours.
R ATIONALE
The purpose this course is to prepare the student in part (this is one of three consecutive courses), to successfully pass the FAA Part 141 Commercial Pilot checkride. This stage will be completed by retaining the web-based knowledge instruction obtained in AVIA 315, completing Phases 1, 2 and 3 of the flight scenarios, and successfully passing the three associated proficiency and progress checks.

After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations , the student will complete the related checklist found in Module/Week 1.

Discussion Board Forums (8)
Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum.
Each thread must be a minimum of 250 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 5 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be a minimum of 75 words.

Stage 1 Phase 1–3 Progress Checks (3)
The student will submit a summary detailing progress made for each of the stage phases. In addition to the summary, the student must have his/her flight instructor email feedback to the course instructor.
E.
Progress Question (8)
The student will account for the number of ground, flight, and/or simulator activities completed at the Flight Training Affiliate. The student will receive full credit for answering the question regardless of the number of activities that were completed.

Late Assignment Policy
If the student is unable to complete an assignment on time, then he or she must contact the instructor immediately by email.
Assignments that are submitted after the due date without prior approval from the instructor will receive the following deductions:

Late assignments submitted within one week of the due date will receive a 10% deduction.
Assignments submitted more than one week late will receive a 20% deduction.
3.
Assignments submitted two weeks late or after the final date of the course will not be accepted.
Late Discussion Board threads or replies will not be accepted. 4.
Special circumstances (e.g. death in the family, personal health issues) will be reviewed by the instructor on a case-by-case basis.
