AbstractID: 9464 Title: Measured Dose Rate Tables for the Checkmate Ir-192 Source Trains An independent experimental determination of the absolute dose rates around 14 seed (55mm) and 10 seed (39 mm) 192Ir source trains of the Checkmate intravascular brachytherapy system was performed and the results compared with the Monte Carlo results and measured values reported by Reynaert et al1 and the manufacturer. The measurement media was MD55-2 GafchromicTM film in Solid WaterTM. Each film sheet was calibrated individually using a calibrated 6 MV x- ray beam. The relative dose response of the film for 192Ir photons compared to 6 MV x-rays was determined to be 1.045. The measured away-and-along dose rate table for the 14 seed source train is listed in Table I. The reference dose rate (averaged ± 15 mm along the axis of the source train) at a radial distance of 2 mm is in agreement with both the manufacturer supplied number and Reynaert et al’s results with an uncertainty of 7% (1σ). From a compilation of all the experimental and Monte Carlo results, a complete set of TG-60 parameters for the Cordis system is presented. 1. N. Reynaert, M. Van Eijkeren, Y. Taeymans, and H.
