Yes No Abstain - 29 - 1 - 3 ISO/TC 176/SC 2 & ISO/TC 207/SC 1, JTG N 26, 2005-09-14 Member Body Responses JTG Analysis of Member Body responses The questionnaire returns show a clear majority support for both the Joint Vision Statement and the outline high level structure; Nevertheless a number of Member Body comments did express certain concerns ISO/TC 176/SC 2 & ISO/TC 207/SC 1, JTG N 26, 2005-09-14 Identified Key Concern 1. “The change to a new structure may involve additional costs to current users and may result in little added value” JTG Response: JTG to conduct a survey (see also Q2) which will address this issue, among others The changes may be beneficial to new and existing users The adoption of new concepts may offset the 176/SC 2 & ISO/TC 207/SC 1, cost of change forISO/TC existing users JTG N 26, 2005-09-14 Identified Key Concern 2. “A survey of the market need for this work is necessary before any detailed work is carried out” JTG Response: JTG will be undertaking a number of initiatives to establish user and market needs, in parallel with ongoing JTG activities ISO/TC 176/SC 2 & ISO/TC 207/SC 1, JTG N 26, 2005-09-14 Identified Key Concern 3. “There are fundamental differences in concepts relating to the effective management of environment and quality and they could be lost during this work” JTG Response: The JTG will identify such issues, and will refer them to the respective SCs during the development of the “Design Specifications” and the revisions to the standards ISO/TC 176/SC 2 & ISO/TC 207/SC 1, JTG N 26, 2005-09-14 Identified Key Concern 4. “ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 should be retained as individual management system standards. JTG Response: We agree, and are working towards this objective ! ISO/TC 176/SC 2 & ISO/TC 207/SC 1, JTG N 26, 2005-09-14 Identified Key Concern 5. “Detailed plans will be needed that will identify how the JTG will communicate and co-ordinate the drafting of the aligned versions of the standards” JTG Response: A communication programme is being developed Co-ordination issues are being examined for inclusion as a sub-component of the Implementation Plan.
