

The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University invites applications from the eligible candidates in the prescribed Application Form

(available on University website www.nagpuruniversity.org

) for the following post of Department of Geology purely on study-leave vacancy period i.e. up to 04/04/2015 or till the incumbent resumes his duties, whichever is earlier.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

:-

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR :-

(i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least

55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian

University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the

National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D

.

Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for

Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in

Universities/Colleges/Institutions.

(iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS AND TERMS & CONDITIONS

:-

1.

Candidates must read the instructions before filling the application form.

Candidates must ensure that no column is kept unfilled or wrongly filled in Application form as the information furnished therein would be used for deciding the eligibility and suitability of the candidates for being

called for the interview. Applications not filled in correctly, completely or as per the instructions are liable to be rejected and the onus of such rejection would be on the candidate himself/herself.

2.

Self-attested copies of the certificates should be attached in support of information given in the form where necessary and serial No. of enclosure attached should be indicated in the respective column given in the form. Any information contained in the attached certificates shall not be considered unless it is claimed in the application form.

3.

Prescribed qualifications for the above mentioned posts would be as per the Norms/Regulations of UGC and as approved by the Government of

Maharashtra.

4.

Please note that UGC Regulations-2010 as amended from time to time form an integral part of this advertisement. Candidates are advised to visit the website of the UGC, relevant statutory councils for details, if required.

5.

“Proforma-A” supplied along with Application Form should also be filled in by applicant and submitted along with the application.

Applicants should also submit the soft copy (CD) of application form including Proforma-A without fail.

6.

A relaxation of 5% may be provided i.e. from 55% to 50 % of the marks at the Master’s degree level for the candidates belonging to

SC/ST/Physically handicapped category.

7.

A relaxation of 5% of marks will be provided i.e. from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders, who have passed their Master’s degree prior to 19 th September, 1991.

8.

NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET / SLET /SET is not conducted.

9.

The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M. Phil. and/ or Ph.D.

Degree shall not be considered as teaching / research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.

10.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories specified by the state

Government of Maharashtra shall be considered.

11.

Candidates from reserved category who are domiciled outside the

Maharashtra will be treated as Open category candidates as per

Maharashtra Govt. Circular No. CBS-1290/23116/Pra.Kra.378/

Mapak.5, dated 24-08-1995.

12.

The candidate shall have to submit a Declaration-II of the

Application Form as per the rules Prescribed by the Govt. of

Maharashtra in respect of small family vide Notification No.

SRV.2000/CR/(17/2000) XII, dated- 28-3-2005.

13.

Candidates should also attach self-attested copies of caste validity certificate and non-creamy layer certificate wherever applicable.

14.

A crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- for OPEN category or Rs. 300/- for S.C., S.T. & V.J. (A)/N.T.(B/C/D) categories drawn in favour of

Finance & Accounts Officer”, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj

Nagpur University, Nagpur should be sent with the application towards Registration Fee (Non-refundable). The Demand Draft must be placed/tagged at the top of the application.

15.

Applicant must write name of the post/specialization, reserved/unreserved post, his/her name and full address on the back of the Demand Draft without fail.

16.

Paste (do not staple/pin) a passport size colour photograph in the space provided on the right top portion of the application duly attested by the applicant in at least two application forms.

17.

Please obtain the endorsement of your Employer on the page enclosed in the application form (in case the applicant is in service). This is mandatory.

18.

Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

19.

Applications incomplete in any respect will not receive any consideration at all.

20.

The right is reserved with the University to fill or not to fill the posts or to modify/alter/cancel the advertisement.

21.

All disputes are subject to Nagpur jurisdiction.

23.

Proficiency in Marathi is desirable for the post.

24.

Applicants shall not be entitled for any TA/DA towards attending the interview.

25.

Selection will be made on the basis of candidate’s previous record and their performance in the interview. The University may also utilize seminar/colloquium and/or any other mode as a method of selection.

26.

The University shall not be held responsible for postponement or cancellation of scheduled interview for any unforeseen/unavoidable reasons.

27.

Applicants who are in the employment shall route their application through their employer. However, in case of an “anticipated delay” such applicants may submit the advance copy of their application in Eleven

sets along with Demand Draft. In the event of applications duly forwarded by the employer were not reaching the Registrar within the stipulated time, the applicant concerned shall be required to furnish a

No Objection Certificate” from his/her Employer, at the time of

Interview, in the absence of which he/she shall not be entitled to appear for the interview.

28.

Applicants are advised to submit the applications to the University well in advance, without waiting till the last date, to avoid postal delay or any other unforeseen problems. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage.

29.

Applications which are received late, incomplete in any respect and not in the prescribed form will be rejected, and no information in this regard will be sent to the candidates.

33.

Prepare a set of application by filling prescribed application form either handwritten or neatly typed and enclose clear and legible copies (not originals) of all type of certificates/publications/ pre-prints/reprints etc., to the application in proof of all information (date of birth, qualifications, experience, publications, etc.) furnished in the Application. Write

'Enclosure Sr.No._____ ' (as mentioned/filled in the application) at the right top corner of each copy of the certificate/document enclosed to the application.

35.

Eleven copies of the application form along with self-attested true copies of the relevant enclosures to all the Eleven Copies shall be submitted along with copies of application form, failing which it will be treated as rejected. Attested copies or reprints of testimonials will not be returned.
