STUDENT GOVERNMENT/SOCIAL EVENTS
Student Government
A student government may be established in each school of this district under the direction of
the chief site administrator or his/her designee.
Democratic processes will prevail to the extent of the maturity level of the students and
which do not run counter to the laws, rules, regulations, and policies under which the schools
must operate.
Opportunities shall be provided for the student government to make recommendations for
changes in the operational rules, regulations, and policies of the schools.
Social Events
Social activities of pupils, wherever held, if conducted under the name or auspices of a
school, class, or organization thereof, shall be under the direct supervision of certificated
personnel of the district.
Dances
Dances held other than on a school campus must have the prior approval of the chief district
administrator.
All dances, with the probable exception of the Senior ball, will be held on campus.
Dances are not to be scheduled to extend beyond 12 o’clock midnight with the exception of
the after-game Homecoming Dance. Further exceptions may be considered by the chief
district administrator upon recommendation of the chief site administrator.
Sunday Performances and Practices
The schools of the district are not to initiate or participate in a Sunday activity in which
students are involved, other than those activities presently established in the community or
traditionally held on Sunday.
The Board discourages practices for a school activity on Sunday.
