- Course Outline Objective
Lecturers
The objective of this course is to provide students with an
understanding of how information technology and information systems
are used in business. Topics to be covered include information
technology architecture, strategic information systems, computer
hardware, computer software, systems development life cycles.
Practical computer experience will be given in word processing,
graphical presentation and spreadsheet software packages.

Assignments
This module contains one group assignment worth 40% each. The assignment will take
the form of a written report and a group presentation on the report. The written report will
form 20% of the overall mark for the module, the presentation will form 10% of the overall
mark for the module, and the critique of presentations will form 10% of the overall mark for
the module.
Details of the assignment will be communicated separately to the class.
To avail of the associated marks each group must submit their solution to the assignment
by the date indicated on the assignment. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Resubmissions:
There are no facilities or opportunities to resubmit the assignment should student(s) fail to
submit by the specified deadline in the first instance, or find that student(s) are re-sitting
the written examination at Autumn.
