The portal will also give campus users and consultants external access to TMCC servers. The VPN gateway can be used from anywhere. The system is initially accessed through a web browser; then, following the instructions below, a small client (called AnyConnect) is automatically installed which will be used to access the VPN from then on. Please note: The VPN has been tested and works with Mac OS X version 10.4 and above. Any questions, please contact IT Customer Service. Initial Checklist • Internet Explorer version 7+ is supported (with Java version 1.5 or later installed). • Firefox is supported if it is patched to the latest version and Java 1.6(14) or later is installed. • Windows Users: Active X must be enabled for Internet Explorer. • Windows Vista and Windows 7 users must add https://tmcconnect.tmcc.edu to the list of trusted sites: 1. Open Internet Explorer and choose Tools > Internet Options > Security tab. 2. Click the Trusted Sites icon, then click the Sites button below. 3. Type: https://tmcconnect.tmcc.edu 4. In addition, teaching faculty who are in a classroom may have a need to access files stored on the administrative file server. To access your network files (typically found on your "H" drive if logged on to the TMCC network from an administrative computer), follow the steps below: 1. TMCC employees/emeritus need to use our Virtual Private Network (VPN) to create a remote connection to the TMCC network. Please reference the VPN and Citrix Installation Guide for further information. 2. Once connected to the TMCC network via the VPN, click on Start, then Run. 3. Depending on which location your network files are stored, type in the following: For Dandini Campus, Performing Arts Center, and Regional Public Safety Center: \\dr-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\homedrive$ For IGT Applied Technology Center: \\ed-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\homedrive$ Page 1 of 3; Remote Network Access and VPN/Citrix Installation User Guide TMCC is an EEO/AA institution. Created: 9/21/2015; Rev: 9/21/2015 • For Meadowood Center: \\ms-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\homedrive$ • For Health Science Center at Redfield: \\rf-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\homedrive$ 4. Select OK. A login window like the one below will appear. 5. Log in using either: tmccadmn\username (i.e., "tmccadmn\jdoe"), OR username@tmccadmn.tmcc.edu (i.e., "jdoe@tmccadmn.tmcc.edu" as shown below) Then, enter your network password (do not check the "Remember my credentials" box) Page 2 of 3; Remote Network Access and VPN/Citrix Installation User Guide TMCC is an EEO/AA institution. See http://eeo.tmcc.edu for more information. Created: 9/21/2015; Rev: 9/21/2015 6. You should see a folder with your name (network login name). Double-click on that folder to access your network files. These are the same files that you would normally access via the "H" drive from an administrative computer. 7. To access your departmental network files (typically found on your "S" drive if logged on to the TMCC network from an administrative computer), follow the same steps above, typing in the correct path for your departmental folder: For Dandini Campus, Performing Arts Center, and Regional Public Safety Center: • For IGT Applied Technology Center: \\ed-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\departments$ \\dr-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\departments$ • For Meadowood Center: \\ms-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\departments$ • For Health Science Center at Redfield: \\rf-main.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\departments$ IMPORTANT: When finished, be sure to log out of the academic computer (or restart or turn off); otherwise, the next person who runs \\servername.tmccadmn.tmcc.edu\homedrive$ (or departments$ for departmental folders on the "S" or other) will gain direct access to your files.
