Dear European Meetings and Events Conference attendee,
th
You are invited to a Co-Creation Think Tank on Sunday February 13 2011 in Düsseldorf taking place
from 14:30 to 15:30 at the Congress Center Düsseldorf.
MPI has committed itself to providing credible, relevant, and accessible knowledge for members of the
meetings and events industry around the Business Value of Meetings. The Business Value of Meetings
Thought Leadership Initiative will produce content which will help you prove the effectiveness and the
value of meetings and business events. Utilizing these business tools and research will help you play a
more strategic role in your organization and communicate that meetings do deliver.
We have kicked off this initiative at WEC in Vancouver in July 2010 and we are now well on our way with
designing and delivering outcomes around the Business Value of Meetings Thought Leadership Initiative.
We however would like to ask for your help and guidance in that process.
This session will discuss ways in which MPI can develop and deliver exceptional educational content
around the Business Value of Meetings.
Co-creation is the practice of developing products and services through the collaborative contributions of
key users and customers. It’s easy to participate in, requires no advance work on your behalf and
promises to be a productive use of your time. You will also benefit from networking with your peers in a
facilitated environment while discussing the Business Value of Meetings.
The session is limited to a small group (less than 12 people) and will focus on the collaborative design of
how MPI can effectively create and deliver relevant educational content and tools that offer compelling
value to MPI’s members and meetings marketplace.
This session will be facilitated by Miranda van Brück, Knowledge Manager at Meeting Professionals
International. The following topics are currently being studied by MPI through it Value of Meetings
Initiative:
·
·
·
·
How organizations use meetings and business events to drive business performance
How organizations measure the effect of meetings and business events as business drivers
How organizations measure and benchmark meetings and business events against other
media
and virtual meetings
How and to what extent organizations integrate environmental footprint into any of these
assessments
These are just a few topics for your consideration to get the conversation started; we are NOT limited to
discussing these issues.
This Co-creation session is made possible by the MPI Foundation and AIBTM.
