Mathography – Due August 24
In your quest to learn to teach mathematics we are urging you to think about how
mathematics is learned. We want to start by thinking about ourselves as learners of
mathematics.
Assignment:
Please write a brief “mathography” in which you describe your history as a mathematics
learner.
You may wish to include:
 The earliest experience you remember as a mathematics learner
 Anecdotes that shed light on your feelings, thoughts and attitudes about learning
mathematics
 School mathematics experiences
 Non-school mathematical experiences
 Successes and/or failures
