MA MA in religion Fellowships and Financial Aid with A concentrAtion in religion for ProfessionAls MA Unit Requirements The MA requires a minimum of 32 units (eight courses), with no additional requirements other than the Master’s Seminar in Religion and that your curriculum involves the study of at least two different religions. Courses Overview While some of our courses deal with the interface between religion, politics, and culture, other courses will pursue an in-depth study of a particular religion, its scripture, history, theology, spirituality, and/or worship. The program advisor will work closely with you to make sure there is harmonious balance between the different kinds of courses. Courses will be taken mostly from the regular offerings of the School of Religion but may also include a maximum of two courses from other schools at CGU. Examine. Enlighten. Transform. TAMMI J. Interdisciplinary Opportunities Students regularly take courses and interact with faculty and students in other CGU departments, including history, English, cultural studies, and music. Further, you may take advantage of the expertise of other faculty at the Claremont Colleges, in areas such as Asian religions, AfricanAmerican religions, New Testament, women’s studies, and US history. Such interdisciplinary work is required as part of a broad and vital course of doctoral study and preparation for scholarly research and teaching.
