for The Dutch International Society Scholarship
INTRODUCTORY STUDY
Dutch International Society Scholarships are available to incoming first-year students taking Dutch
language courses at the introductory level. The amount of the scholarship may vary from year, but it
normally ranges from $1000 to $1500.
The following areas are considered when awarding the stipend:
1. Financial need. There should be some evidence that the scholarship is needed to help meet
educational expenses.
2. Your interest in and commitment to learning Dutch. Please submit a brief essay explaining your
interest in studying Dutch (maximum 300 words). Submit this portion as an attached text document
(Word or pdf) or in the body of an e-mail addressed to dutch@calvin.edu.
