IMPORTANT DATES February 17, 2010 Abstract Submission Begins Online Workshop Registration Opens Hotel Room Block Opens April 21, 2010 Deadline for Hotel Reservations at Special Rate Abstract Submission Deadline April 30, 2010 Workshop Registration Deadline GENERAL WORKSHOP INFORMATION The 4th International Systems Radiation Biology Workshop will be held May 20–22, 2010 at The New York University (NYU) Langone Medical Center in New York City. This workshop will provide a forum for research scientists to discuss the application of systems biology approaches to issues in radiation biology, radiation protection, and radiotherapy. Systems radiation biology is a new field that addresses classic problems in radiation biology by integrating the biology of DNA damage with extracellular signaling pathways and transcriptional regulatory networks in a multicellular organism. Computational models of complex mechanisms that provide experimentally testable predictions are beginning to provide a better understanding of health risks such as cancer and degenerative disease. Workshop attendance is limited and registration is required for all attendees. Workshop Location: NYU Langone Medical Center 550 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10016-6402 Schwartz Hall F (entrance on 30th Avenue) Workshop Web Site: www. dsls.usra.edu/meetings/sysradbio2010 Page 1 of 7 4th International Systems Radiation Biology Workshop May 20-22, 2010 NYU Langone Medical Center 550 1st Avenue, NY, NY 10016 Organizing Committee Mary Helen Barcellos-Hoff, New York University (Committee Chair) Allan Balmain, University of California, San Francisco David Brenner, Columbia University Francis Cucinotta, Johnson Space Center, NASA Lynn Hlatky, Tufts University Herwig Paretzke, GSF-National Research Center for Environment and Health Noelle F. ABSTRACT AND PRESENTER INFORMATION Abstract Deadline, Wednesday, April 21, 2010 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time SUBMIT ABSTRACTS BY E-MAIL TO INFO@DSLS.USRA.EDU Please include “SysRadBio2010” in the subject line of your e-mail. Abstract Instructions NOTE: Only a few submitted abstracts will be selected for presentation. Abstracts will be published in a Workshop Abstract Volume with the Program and Participant List. We ask that you submit your abstract in PDF format. This will give you more control over the quality of your published abstract. Be sure to set your preferences to embed the fonts in the PDF document. If you are unable to comply with this request to submit your abstract file in PDF format, please contact Kellie Rogers at 281-244-2011 or e-mail info@dsls.usra.ed for further information. General Abstract Formatting Instructions Abstracts should be formatted to fit on 8.5" x 11" paper with 1" margins on all sides. Abstracts should be no longer than one single-spaced page; up to two additional pages of supporting material, such as charts, graphs, text, and figures, may accompany the abstract. The font should be 10 pt Times New Roman. The abstract title should be bold and centered at the top of the page.
