（英文報告心得）
It was an unforgettable experience for me in my 2009 summer vacation. I’m so glad that I won a scholarship to go to Deakin University in Australia. Before I went to
Australia, I searched so many websites about Melbourne. Also, because I have a friend who lives in Melbourne, I asked him many things about Melbourne, including
4 minutes shower, Australian food and cultures about Australia. It’s not enough for everybody to experience my trip in Melbourne by simple words. Now I’m going to introduce my new life in Melbourne with some wonderful pictures.

Actually 14 th
July is my
Daddy’s birthday. But I had to say good bye to my family. I was almost crying when I said good bye to them. I know my parents were worried about me. But I think it’s the best chance for me to challenge myself and improve my English.
We arrived in Hong Kong at the night and stayed in the hotel of
Hong Kong airport. I shared the room with other two girls who named
Sophia and Amy. We watched TV, tried to make tea and coffee, Amy and I even took a look around some stores in the airport. Well…as everybody knows, nothing is cheap in these stores.

July
In the morning, we took the CX-163 flight to Melbourne. I was very nervous and anxious but a little excited to meet my host family.
Finally, we arrived in Melbourne. The flight was not good because I couldn’t fall asleep on the plane at all.
We met Scott and another teacher at the airport. I think they had waited for us for a while because our flight delayed. And then they took us to Deakin University and let us wait for our own host family at school.
My home parents are caring. They are from Sri Lanka. They prepared me a cozy room, especially the big double bed. My home stay mother is good at cooking.
She cooks different kind of food for dinner everyday, such as Korean food, Chinese food and Sri Lanka food. That’s why I gained weight when I was in Australia.

That’s our first time to go to
Melbourne city. Everything in the city was marvelous. I think Melbourne is a clean and developed city, including convenient transport, polite Melbourne citizens and drivers. Although people jump the light, drivers still give way for people to cross the road. And they never sound the horn.
We took a walk along the bank of
Yarra river. We saw Princes Bridge, Arts centre. We also went to Southgate and had lunch there. I like the candy shop in
Southgate because visitors can try candies which were just done and we can also watch the process of making candies.
And the next day, we went to St. Kilda beach which is pretty far away from city. There’s a green grass near the beach, people flied the kites, walked dogs, even sunbathed. It must be a good place to stay away from noise city.
First week
We started our class this week.
The way we learn English in Melbourne is very different from the way we learn in
Taiwan. In Australia, we learnt English by playing games and writing down everything you heard from the tape. We also had a class named ILC. We could use the leisure time to improve our English by playing some games, getting into conversation with friends in conversation room, reading books or even watching
English DVDs to improve our English.
And the most special class is that we went to city for our class once a week.
We absolutely understood how the painters drew these paintings or what materials were used on these paintings.
Great Ocean Road
I heard that Great Ocean Road is the most breathtaking highway in the world.

Each the shape of the rock is eroded by the waves of the ocean. That would be the most majestic scenery I ever seen when I saw Twelve Apostles. Blue sky and ocean made me feel peaceful.
We also passed through the campus of Deakin University at Geelong and we stopped at the grass in front of the school to take some pictures.
Then the diver took us the see koalas. Maybe the koalas were cold because they were sleeping and they didn’t move at all. We only saw their big and cute rumps. When I was focusing on koalas and looking forward to seeing they moving their bodies. There was a parrot hit my head with its claws. I screamed suddenly, scared the parrot and my teacher Scott. That was rather embarrassing.
Phillip Island
Today we went to Phillip Island to see penguins. My home stay parents told me that we could see hundreds of penguins back from the ocean to their homes. Maybe we were unlucky on that day, because there were not many penguins appeared. But I think it’s enough for us. It’s my first time to close to penguins. Especially the moment we saw the first penguin came back from the ocean. Its short and fat body is so lovely. It’s worth waiting for these penguins to come back although it was really chilly in that night. We left the beach afterwards. Teacher told us penguins have to make sound to let their family know where their home is. What an incredible ability of animals it is!
Immigration Museum
It’s second time for us to go to city for our class. The topic is “Immigration”. And there are some reasons why people want to move to another country.
In the museum, teacher taught us people’s life before, including the stories which made them immigrate at

that time. We met a little girl who is from Ireland. She has big green eyes and lovely smile. Michael taught her how to play “Paper, Scissors, Stone”, but she still didn’t know how to play. I think it was Michael’s speaking of English ability made the little girl confused.
Graduation
Today was the last day of our
English course at Deakin University. School held a graduation ceremony for us. I’m so proud of each one of us. In the past one month, I had a wonderful life at school. I’m sure that I would miss my friends, teachers, home stay parents. Everything happened in
Melbourne was so cool and fantastic. It’s the best experience in my life I ever had!!!

２００９年七月十四日，暑假才剛始沒多久，我們海外研習團的九位小朋友
告別台灣，前往墨爾本展開一個月精彩的暑假生活。
＊ 出國日
出國之前，其實我非常期待這一天的到來。想想幾個月前才剛筆試完畢，公
布榜單，今天就是搭飛機往墨爾本的日子了。實在是想不到才一年級的我能夠順
順利利追尋到我夢想已久的遊學生活，就算要和家人道別時早已偷偷拭過好幾次
眼淚了，無所謂，這是種成長。
今日一大早，我再次檢查我的行李，很擔心行李超重。晚上還是我最後一個
到達機場的。
出境之後，老師給了我們有關學校和墨爾本的資料。來自不同系的我們開始
互相認識彼此，畢竟出國後還是要互相照應，更何況我們所說的語言是最沒障礙
的。
＊ 抵達墨爾本
昨日在香港住一晚後，今天終於轉機抵達墨爾本。在機場外有迪肯大學的兩
位老師接待我們。搭著學校安排好的小巴士到迪肯大學去。
首先，我們先去繞了校園。不曉得外國的校園是否都如此遼闊，有好多個大
門口，每個門口都面向不同方向和馬路，對新生來說應該就是種挑戰了，更何況
是「國際新生」呢？
最後，司機把車停在 la Building 讓我們等待寄宿家庭。看著大家一個一個被
帶回家，我和 Sophia 是倒數第二個被接走的，剩最後一個就是 Michael 了，隔天
在學校聽他說他昨晚吹冷風吹很久。果然，Michael 就是第一個感冒的人。
＊ ２天考試分班ˋ新生訓練
早上起了個大早，因為 Homemom 要教我們搭車去學校，從寄宿家庭到學校，
總共要一個小時。搭了公車又搭電車，一路上連忙記路標，深怕下午自己回家會
迷路。果然，我和 Sophia 真的搭 Tram 搭錯方向了，這就是不好好記地標的下場。
還好最後折騰了許久才回到家。馬上跟 Homemom 訴苦！

隔天，聽了新生講座，認識了 Michael 的兩位韓國室友，這時英文就派得上
用場了，雖然還是有點雞同鴨講。
＊ 第一次到墨爾本都市
第一次到都市，一切都很新鮮。墨爾本的都市給我的感覺就是「一幅風景
畫」。蔚藍的天空ˋ充滿綠意的街道和清爽的空氣，一點都沒有都市的感覺。現
代建築包圍著古老建築，看起來並不會突兀，反而覺得很特別。
老師帶我們到了 Yarra River, Princes Bridge, Southgate, Melbourne shopping centre, Federation Square, Art centre…還有好多地方。
墨爾本都市裡的交通很方便，Tram 隨處都搭得到，對於我們這種觀光客如
果沒有人帶，手上最好還是拿一本電車地圖吧！電車地圖很簡單明瞭，連我常迷
路的人都看得懂了。
＊ 到城市上課
隔周，依照考試分班，我被分到 GE6，和 Michael, Sophia 同班。第一天上課
就很開心，整天都在玩遊戲，和台灣學英文的方法很不一樣。由於第一堂課一定
都要認識大家ˋ記住大家的名字。所以進行一個邊丟球邊記別人的名字，途中我
還被丟到頭，不會第一堂課就有人討厭我了吧！
星期五我們到都市裡上課，好像不只我們，在美術館裡還看到國中生來上
課。外國的教育就是不一樣，學生安安靜靜地欣賞畫作，老師則是在一旁解說。

這會讓我想起我們台灣的戶外教學，但不一樣的是，我們根本就是等於出去玩的。
＊ 大洋路、十二門徒石
在出國前，大概就有稍微上網查一下大洋路。這條公路被譽稱為「澳洲風景
最懾人的公路」。果然親眼近距離就是一種震撼，在這裡完全看不見人為汙染，
一面大海，另一面則是山。人類再怎麼厲害，也無法炮製這樣的美景。
早上我們很早就出發了，由於目的地在遙遠的吉隆，必須坐很久的車才能到
達。首先到了位在吉隆校區的迪肯大學，對面有個類似公園的地方，還有一片綠
地。澳洲的天空永遠都是蔚藍的，搭配綠油油的草地更是完美組合。所以我們大
家拍起在綠地「跳躍」的照片，連 Scott 都覺得我們拍照方式很新奇。
吃 完 午
餐，我們接著
去看無尾熊，
只是他牠一動
也不動，都只
看到牠圓圓的
屁股。我還被
鸚鵡攻擊頭。尖叫了一聲，嚇到鸚鵡，也嚇到了站在我旁邊的 Scott。
＊ 菲利浦島（企鵝島）
終於，今天要去看企鵝了。大家約好午餐要去嚐試義大利餐廳 Sofia。聽 homemom 說這間餐廳都是超大份量，能在墨爾本找到便宜又大碗的餐廳實在很
不容易，只是口味就要看個人是否喜歡了。
我們下午１點才出發。在車上，Scott 還特地
帶零食給我們吃，真是個好老師。Scott 會講日文、
法文，就是不會中文。
到達目的地，我們在菲利浦島看企鵝。第一次
看到企鵝果然很興奮，雖然沒有很多，我還用奇怪
的姿勢怪跪在地上看企鵝，可見企鵝真的沒有很多

隻。不然也不會為了看企鵝毀了自己的形象。
說真的，這裡的風景不輸上禮拜去的大洋
路，一樣有藍天、有大海，但是海浪激起的浪
花卻很美，這也表示說這裡風很大、很冷。在
墨爾本就不必要太在意髮型了，越梳也只是會
越來越火冒三丈而已，所以盡量讓它飄逸吧！
晚上去沙灘上看企鵝不准照相。看著小企
鵝們從海裡出現，又是另一股莫名的興奮。
小企鵝們是一群一群地出現在沙灘上，對他們來說要回到岸上很辛苦，因為小小
的身體讓海浪拍打著，只要有一個同伴被沖進海裡，全部的小企鵝又會再次跑回
海裡找牠們的同伴，堅持要一起行動就對了。
＊ Sofia 歡送會
時間過得很快，我們剩幾天就要回台灣
了，還有幾個韓國的同學也要回韓國。班上的
同學為我們辦了歡送會。必須拮据過生活的學
生當然首選就是便宜大份量的 Sofia 義大利餐
廳了。大家都在這天猛按相機快門，為的就是
要留下美好的回憶。大家來自各個國家，常常
互相教導自己國家的語言，分享自己的秘密，
＊ 畢業典禮
其實這禮拜是考試周，最後兩天考試，來看看是不是有學生上課都在「發
呆」。其實感覺考試不會很難。作文、文法，還有口說考試。我很意外我自己的
口說考試一點都不緊張，反而是在台上說太久，有點超過時間，希望這會是我一
個月來的最大收穫。以往我很難在別人面前開口說英文，這次能在台上不間斷的
講了八分鐘的確很有成就感。
中午，學校為我們辦了畢業典禮茶會，頒發證書。代表我們完成了這個課程。
老師也說我們在班上上課很努力，連作報告也很認真。頒發完證書，也就表示今
天是我們在迪肯大學上課的最後一天了，為我們精彩的一個月生活化下完美句
點。
今年，我的暑假很不一樣。我有段精彩的生活，充滿冒險的體驗。
『我，努力達到夢想。築夢踏實，越不可能的夢想越是要追尋。』

中文報告
經過將近 10 小時的旅程，我們順利到達布里斯本機場。幸好海關沒有我想
像的恐怖，雖然中間遇上像是護照沒簽名.掃描不出來的小問題，不過我們都沒
太被刁難。
到了我們即將就讀五個禮拜的昆士蘭大學，我們各自被寄宿家庭的父母一一
接走。來接我的是 Nurit，有著黑髮黑眼珠和白皮膚的熱情寄宿家庭媽媽，我們
家後她介紹我的兩個室友，兩位在他們國家都是英文老師－韓國籍 Chung Hwa
和日本籍 Tomoko，後來在這邊的新生活因為有他們的陪伴讓我適應更快。Nurit
帶著我們三個去看公車路線，逛超市，還給我們布里斯本地圖，公車時刻表，詳
細跟我們解釋公車如何搭乘，怕我聽不懂（很明顯，我的英文能力在這邊是最弱
貼心的她。
過了幾天我才看到我的寄宿家庭爸爸－Yaheli，他看起來很有個人魅力，他
們感情很好，是典型的外國夫妻，無論是做菜或工作都不會分你我，不像我們傳
統觀念＂男主外，女主內＂。我想我未來這五個禮拜的生活會很有趣。
澳洲的冬天，每天早上起床都是煎熬，六點起床，七點半等公車，相當規律
的生活，我發現這邊冬天和高雄冬天有異曲同工之妙，早晚溫差將近１０度，除
了早晚冷以外，這裡的天氣還算舒適，只是缺雨讓來自多雨的台灣的我很不習
慣，想當然爾，這裡的省水習慣其來有自，幸好我的寄宿家庭對我們不太苛求，
讓我們的生活過得相當舒適。
一天，ICTE 學生有一個分班考試，老實說，我考得並不理想，尤其是我的口說
能力，因為接觸少又太緊張，頻頻口誤，也不太了解測驗老師的意思，班級分成
經過一個禮拜，我真的無法在這個班級學到我所需，在寄宿家庭和同學的建議
下，我決定去找負責人換課程等級，在這裡，我不用擔心因為換等級或其他對學
校反映的事，而需要顧及別人眼光，這是亞洲普遍的心態。很快的，他聽完我的
問題，看過我當時考試狀況，我順利換完我的班級，在當天下午，我就可以換到
等級四上課。第四級以上的班級除了一般課程，可以有一些選擇課程的權利，我
選了英文歌唱和商業英文，我的主要老師是 Lisa，她很有趣和負責，是個很好的

老師，第四級課程的文法及聽力都難了一些，雖然有些文法我學過，但對於我聽
力和複習是有幫助的，而且新同學都可以接納我，讓我覺得我真的做了對的選擇。
每天都是下午３～４點放學，我們都會坐公車到市區逛逛，我們買了月票（可
常需要物品，它同時是個很大的轉運站，可在這轉搭公車或火車，是我們在這裡
最好的指標。這裡物價頗高，包括食物(除了牛奶和巧克力)，所以對於中餐，最
好的方法就是自己做三明治或其他簡單可以打發的東西，平均在學校食物都要台
幣 120 元以上，如果在外面吃甚至要 200 元起跳，我通常都買吐司.起司.火腿.生
菜.煎蛋做成三明治，這樣平均一餐只要台幣 25~75 元，在這邊，他們較不注重
中餐，通常是普通三明治或簡單速食就打發掉。早餐是簡單麥片或土司，晚餐是
一天最豐盛的一餐，也是最讓我期待的吃飯時間，因為每天都可以吃到不同的驚
奇。而且聽著他們豐富的對話，總是讓我獲益良多，不僅讓我英文能力增進不少，
更讓我了解國家的多元文化。對於增進英文能力，我很推薦選擇寄宿家庭。
在澳洲的第一個週末，我們到了 LONE PINE,這裡有世界獨一無二的動物－
袋鼠和無尾熊。這讓我們很興奮，在這裡，我們感受到在台灣動物園缺乏的自然
感，或許和地域大小有關，尤其是袋鼠，對於我們這些不速之客，牠們並不害怕
只是優閒的在這片自然大草原跑跑跳跳；當然，我們還跟珍貴的無尾熊拍照，牠
們不像我們看起來的那樣瘦小，其實牠們是頗有份量的，和我拍照的是隻小女
生，她是這麼可愛和配合，抱在手中真的有說不出來的滿足感。我們還看了趕羊
秀，牧羊犬十分盡責聰明，結束之後還溫馴的跟孩子玩耍。還有很多稀奇的動物，
但一一說出他們的名字真的有點困難，來一趟這邊真的是澳洲必備的行程。
經過一周新班級的課程，其實適應的很快，不過我發現商業英文真的有些無
趣….不過聽說另一個選擇學術英文好像也是一樣，或許這種專業課程就是這
樣？尤其這邊是英式英文，讓從小學美式英文的我有些不習慣。
第二周周末陽光海岸，我們在學校預定行程，昆士蘭大學提供一連串週末行
程供 ICTE 學生選擇，其中包含相當多景點，我們訂了陽光海岸，黃金海岸（兩
陽光海岸相當漂亮，比起黃金海岸，我們都認為它更適合多逗留一晚，相對的，
這邊的住宿價格也比較高昂，黃金海岸充斥太多觀光客，有些擁擠混亂，它的沙
灘也沒陽光乾淨，不過黃金海岸夜生活比較豐富，有相當多夜店。如果想放鬆，
我會較推薦陽光。
最後一周我們試圖要去這裡一個相當著名的景點-Byron Bay（澳洲最東的一

另一個景點 Stradbroke island，我們先搭乘火車到 Cleveland station(克里夫蘭)，我
們遇到一位好心的老先生，他知道我們迷路之後，決定親自帶我們到可以搭乘水
一經過海灘的路筆直且都是小心袋鼠出沒的標誌，但鮮少住家，我們坐到巴士的
最終站，那裏看起來是一個懸崖，真的很適合待上一個下午，在這眺望海景讓人
心曠神怡，最讓我們驚喜的是，當我們正放鬆邊看風景邊吃冰淇淋時，三隻袋鼠
從我們面前跳過，我們還看到一隻袋鼠優閒的吃草，對我們並沒有太大戒心，讓
我覺得真的很親近大自然。回程時我們搭同一輛巴士去搭水上巴士，我們發現這
裡的交通工具時間似乎都已搭配好，讓我們不用擔心等待時間，我們在那邊度過
很棒的一天，因為是自己來而不是跟團，感覺格外滿足，我們的交通工具一共只
花了２２元澳幣，如果在學校預定需要５５元，因此自己來會是很棒的經驗。
大約在回國前兩個禮拜，我得知昆士蘭大學在寄宿家庭方面犯了幾個錯誤，
第一，我的寄宿家庭父母在２７日要返回以色列，但我必須留到３０號，因此我
必須要再找新家庭度過那幾天，幸好有個同學她的寄宿家庭有空位，因此我可以
順利搬到她家，不用再另外適應一個陌生環境；第二，我們這團有四人（兩對）
互相在最初被換了寄宿家庭而不自知，因為我們本來被安排到適合的家庭，但我
們從負責安排的人得知，因為電腦輸入錯誤，我們都被交換了家庭，難怪一開始
我們這團有人反映她的寄宿家庭不符合她的要求，昆士蘭大學在通知學校之後就
知道有這樣的錯誤卻沒更正，這是我們覺得最匪夷所思的一點。我的新家庭習慣
和原本的家庭很不同，他們來自伊斯蘭卡，有小孩和狗，非常省水省電，比較缺
少外國的開放大方，反倒比較像東方的傳統家庭。
ICTE 每五個禮拜就有一個語言考試，跟我們當初分班考試一樣，有聽說讀
寫能力測驗，這個考試可以決定你在經過五個禮拜的課程，是否有資格升等級或
留在原班級，先進行的是口說能力測驗，我們用抽籤決定 partner，談談關於在澳
洲的所見所聞，我講了很多我覺得新鮮的.和國家不同的地方，結束後，老師給
我相當多的鼓勵，她說我表現很好，我覺得比起第一天讓老師搖頭的表現，我想
我真的進步很多，多虧寄宿家庭父母和室友不厭其煩的重複我不懂的地方，以及
和同學之間良好的互動，我真的覺得我滿載而歸了。
最後一天我也順利完成其他三項測驗，中午有個免費的 BBQ，我們和同學
互留聯絡方式和拍照，真的覺得很捨不得。
在這裡的五個禮拜，我們過得很充實，雖然中間有些小插曲，像公車司機忽
略我的站牌害我遲到，有點小迷路，也曾經遇到一些對外來遊客不友善的年輕
人，但總體來說這裡的人其實接納度很高，我們在旅程中也遇到很多小困難，多

虧那些當地人幫助，讓我們相當感動。寄宿家庭是我在澳洲最美好的一環，我很
幸運遇到這麼好的父母，我慶幸當初選的是有寄宿家庭的澳洲，讓我學習到更
多，能更深入體會這裡的生活，還有順利換班級，靠自己發現一座美麗小島，這
些都是很棒的回憶。
English Report
After almost 10 hours, we arrived at Brisbane airport. Fortunately, The custom house wasn＇t as scared as we thought. Although we had little problem such as passport without sign or passport couldn＇t be scanned, we still pass successfully.
We were picked up by our homestay family after we arrived at The University of Queensland, which we will study for 5 weeks. A passion and kind woman picked me up-Nurit, who has black hair, black eyes and white skin. We chatted with each other some basic question, and I know about she and her husband are come from
Israel (Judaic). About 40 minutes later, she introduced my 2 roommates for me when we were arriving home. Chung Haw (Korea) and Tomoko (Japan) both teach
English in their own country. Without them, I couldn＇t adapt the new life there soon. In the afternoon, Nurit took us to see the way bus drive, look around supermarkets. She also gave us map of city, university, home, and bus timetable.
She worried about that I couldn＇t understand what she said and repeated again and again about how to take a bus to school and city for me.(Obviously, my English is the poorest of them.) She is really so considerate and I was lucky to meet her.
Few days later, I saw my homestay fathter-Yaheli, he seems has his own personal charming. They are typical foreign couple, and they also seem love each other very much. Different with our traditional society impression “men do outside, women do inside,＂ they don＇t separate their works too clearly. I can imagine how fun my life will be here.
It was winter in Australia, and it was hard to get up in the morning. I went to bed and woke up early; it was routine life, wasn＇t it? Winter there is similar with winter in Kaohsiung. They both have big difference in the temperature between mornings, nights with daytime. Although I was little hard to adapt that there is lack of raining, the weather still comfortable. Absolutely, they are very saving water.
We studied in a building called ICTE which is provides language learning in
Queensland University. First day, ICTE students had an exam to separate us to different classes. Actually, I didn＇t do well on the exam, especially my speaking

test. I was nervous and couldn＇t understand what the teacher exactly meant. Our classes have 7 levels; I was separated to level 3. The lessons in level 3 is really too simple, I knew I can＇t learn what I need in this class after 1 week. With my homstay family and friends＇ recommence, I decided to change my class level.
Soon, after the person who responsible for listened my question and saw exam result, he told me that I could change level 4. I don＇t need to worry about other＇s opinion if I said that I don＇t satisfy with lesson or something like that, and it often happens in Asian society. Classes up to level 4 can have option lessons except normal＇s, and I chose learning English through songs, business English. My main teacher is Lisa, she is responsibility and charming. Grammar and listening are a little bit difficult than level 3. There were something I have been learned, but it was still helpful for me to review and listen. I thought it was right decision.
We finished daily classes at 3:00p.m. ~4:00p.m. . We often looked around the city after school. We bought monthly ticket so that we can take public transportation any times we want. For us, Indooropilly shopping center is the most convenient place. It is not only a shopping center but also a big transfer station.
Everything is expensive there except milk and chocolate. Therefore, it｀s the best way to make lunch by yourself, such as sandwiches or other easy foods. In average, it＇s cost at least NT$ 120 to eat a meal at school; it even cost up to NT$200 eat outside. I often made sandwiches with cheeses, hams, lettuces, eggs; it just cost me
NT$25~75. My breakfast was oatmeal ort toasts, dinner was the best and I always expected the time in one day. I love the time because not only I can eat different surprises but learn a lot from their plentiful dialogues. To improve English ability much faster, I will recommend live in home stay.
The first weekend in Australia, we went to LONE PINE which has unique animals-koala and kangaroo. We could learn the feel of nature which is lack of in
Taiwan, maybe it has connection with how big the ground is. Those kangaroos don＇t afraid of people, they just run and jump on the natural grass casually.
Absolutely, we took pictures with those cherish koalas. I took a picture with a little girl koala, she is so sweet and lovely, I really felt satisfied at the moment. We also saw sheep dog show, and those dogs were responsible and clever. They even played with children after the show finished. There are still many kinds of rare animals, and it＇s hard for me to say their names. It＇s really necessary to go there when you are travelling in Australia.
After one week in the new class, I adapted soon. However, I felt business

English was boring, and I also heard that academic English was also boring. Maybe professional class always like that? Especially we learned England English there; it was often let me feel confused.
Queensland University provides a series schedules provide ICTE students as choice; including many kinds of famous places. We booked Sunshine Coast, Gold
Coast (2 days and 1 night) and EKKA DAY (a traditional festival once a year in
Australia, and we can have an extra holiday. It is also necessary to go.) Sunshine
Coast and Gold Coast are both pretty. In my opinion, the latter is crowded because there are too many tourists, and the latter＇s sand is also dirty than former. If you want to have some drink in night clubs, Gold Coast is a good choice.
The last weekend, we try to go to a very famous place-Byron Bay (a bay which is located at the east of Australia. Unfortunately, all of schedules of school or other companies were full. However, we decided to take a train to Stradbroke island.
At first, we had token a train to Cleveland station, than we met a kind old man. After he knew we had got lost, he decided to take us to the place which can take water taxi (return
US$12) (or ferry). It took us 25 minutes, as soon as we arrived at this beautiful island; a bus had waited there (daily student ticket is US$4.4). The only road through beach is straight and full of signal said be careful of kangaroos, but seldom residences. Finally, we got off at the final stop, it＇s really a gorgeous scenery! You can stay there all afternoon, its fresh air and sea scenery let me free of mind and happy of heart. While we were eating ice cream with relax, three kangaroos jumped and passed by us! It was so natural and surprised, wasn＇t it? We also saw a kangaroo was eating grass near us, he didn＇t very afraid human. We took the same bus return to take water tax. What surprise us was all public transportation seems match with each other, so we didn＇t need to worry about the time to wait. We really had a good day there. The trip just cost us US$22 on transportation, and it need US$55 to book the trip at school. Therefore, it will be great to go there by yourself.
About two weeks ago, I knew that made some mistakes on aspect of home stay. First of all, my homestay family will go back to Israel at 8/27, and I＇m going to leave at 8/30.
As a result, I had to find a new family, and I find one of my friends had a vacant room luckily. Second, 4 people in my groups didn＇t know about that they was changed homestays with some mistakes. At first, we all separated to suitable families. It＇s incredible that because of some mistakes and finally everything changed! No wander somebody complained about her family. The most strange is they had known about this, but they didn＇t correct it. My new family was very different with the old one. They are

come from Islam; there are a cute dog and 2 children in the family. The biggest difference is they look more like traditional Asian family.
In ICTE, there is a language exam every 5 weeks. The exam was similar with the one which we had at the first week, and it can decide that if you have qualification to up your level. The first was speaking test, we casted lots to decide our partner. The topic was talking about my life there, and I talked about what I felt fresh and compared with my own country. After I finished, the teacher (Lisa) said that I had good performance, and I think I really made a lot progress. Thanks my home stay family and roommates talked to me patiently; and good interaction with classmates. I really return home fully supplied.
I really had a good time in the 5 weeks, although there are still had episodes such as the bus driver ignored my bus stop and I late for school, I also bumped into some unfriendly teenagers. However in conclusion, people there always have an open mind.
Thanks those kind peoples＇ help and I can pass so much difficult. My home stay was the best memory for me in Australia, I really lucky to meet the family. I think I had a correct choice to come to Australia which can live in home stay, and it let me learned a lot.
Changing classes successfully and discovering a beautiful island by ourselves were all best and unforgettable memories.

一、 前言
進入義守大學前，很幸運的收到英語夏令營的邀請函，當時並沒有多
想，腦子中只想著這活動不僅可以玩樂又可以拓展交友圈，當下就馬上決
定報名了。因為參加此活動，沒想到讓我往後的大學生活收穫無窮，不僅
學到英文也得到了學海甄選的保證，所以大二時參加了學海的考試，也很
幸運的考上了出國遊學的資格。
考上學海獎學金後，學生們必須以抽籤的方式選擇國家，當時的我一
心只想飛到英國去，但從小到大抽籤沒一次如願，因此就抽到了澳洲昆士
蘭大學團。昆士蘭大學是馳名中外的大學，欲至澳洲留學的學生總會把它
加入名單中，但不曉得是哪根筋不對，我和一位抽到澳洲迪肯大學團的學
妹交換，從交換後至出國前一刻，我後悔莫及，殊不知墨爾本卻是個如此
美好的地方，迪肯大學更是個世界大融爐！在我踏到墨爾本的土地那一
刻，才漸漸發現這是個多麼繁榮又時尚的城市，也讓我在短短的一個月
中，愛上了它。
二、 校園生活
踏入迪肯大學，校園幅員廣大，而上課的地方位於校園的一角-語言
學習中心，此建築中可見到許多華人面孔，大部分是從中國或韓國至墨爾
本留、遊學的學生；除了亞洲學生，其次就是阿拉伯人，午餐時間常常可
見到伊斯蘭教的朝拜儀式，好不特殊；而我所認識的阿拉伯人中，各個都
非常熱情也很體貼，可不輸台灣南部的熱情呢！
正式開課前所有的學生必須以寫作測驗當作分班依據，從 GE1 至 GE7
七個班級別中，我被分於 GE5-A 的班級，GE5-A 成員有兩位阿拉伯人、六
位韓國人，一位中國人與包含我在內的兩個台灣人；小班制的教學讓我學
起英文來非常的迅速，由於每節課都有發言的機會，加上班上同學大半來
自不同語言的國家，所以在此環境下必須強迫自己以英語溝通，這是一個
月以來學到最多英語語法的最佳時候。
一個月的課程中，團體報告是讓我最難忘的作業，學生必須做出以迪
肯四個分校及校園為主軸的大富翁遊戲，而我的組員有阿拉伯、韓國人，
就獨缺個會說中文的同學，這讓我一開始非常的緊張，深怕溝通不良以至
於無法傳達自己或了解同學的想法，但很幸運的，從做此份作業開始到完

成，每個人都曉得自己該做的部分，團隊的分工合作精神發揮到淋漓盡
致，這過程中不僅讓我們勇於開口說英文，更增進了同學之間的感情。
拿到結業證書前，必須先通過期末考大關，除了考上課內容的筆試之
外，還有上台口頭報告部分，由於先前系上曾上過英文簡報技巧，所以準
備報告時不會感到陌生。口頭報告內容必須是訪問墨爾本在地人一生的介
紹，而我所選擇的對象是寄宿家庭的媽媽，從訪談的過程中，不僅了解她
豐富的人生經驗，更增加了彼此的感情， 也讓我在報告時感動了大家，使
班上的師生印象深刻，同時在迪肯大學的學校生活中，畫下了完美的句點。
三、 寄宿家庭
遊學最難忘的不外乎寄宿家庭的生活體驗了，出國前收到通知時，既
期待又擔心，期待的是可以隻身在不同語言的家庭中生活，但也擔心自己
的生活習慣無法融入，帶給他人的麻煩。不過當我見到寄宿家庭的爸媽
時，所有的擔心全都消失了，在我們相處的這段時間當中，都是在歡笑聲
裡度過，好不快樂!
寄宿家庭的成員有 Home Pa，高大粗壯的義大利人；Home Mom，非常
開朗的菲律賓人；兩人愛的結晶，是個輪廓深又美的女兒。一家人最拿手
的就是廚藝了，晚餐時刻常可享用 Home Pa 烹飪的道地義大利比薩與許多
異國美食；而 Home Mom 不僅能抓住亞洲人的胃口，還變出好多千變萬化
的菜色；女兒雖然只是高中生，但由於基因的遺傳，煮起飯來可是架勢十
足呢！這一個月來，每晚簡直就是在餐廳用餐，所以常常一下課就馬上衝
回家，深怕晚餐吃不到似的。
在寄宿家庭這段期間，我的飲食習慣大大的改變，過去每天的早餐都
是以中式餐點為主，而現在的我完全以玉米片或麥片取代了過去的油膩，
不僅營養又方便。中午則是自己準備三明治與水果取代熱食，如此一來就
避免了下午上課因為過飽而貧打瞌睡，同時也養成了吃水果的習慣。雖然
寄宿家庭把我照顧得健健康康，也調整了飲食習慣，但多出來的四公斤肥
肉可是讓我一個頭兩個大啊！
四、 旅遊景點
從寄宿家庭至城市非常的方便，搭著電車大約四十分鐘就可以直達，沿
途可欣賞到許多冬季美景與英式風格的建築。而墨爾本城市則擁有美麗獨
特的市景，包含維多利亞式的悠久建築以及新穎摩登的建築物交錯聳立，

是澳洲最具歐洲氣習的美麗城市，全世界最適合居住的城市可是名不虛
傳。
週末時刻 的墨爾本市中心，如聯邦廣場，經常會舉辦各種藝文展與表演
活動，而亞拉河對岸的藝術中心與美術館則是全年幾乎沒有間斷的藝術品
展、歌劇、舞蹈、音樂會等許多活動； 在這段期間內，我參觀了 龐貝古城展
與達利畫展，這兩次經驗讓我深深的感受到墨爾本人是如此的重視生活的素
質與內容，除了參觀的人數眾多，在欣賞的同時，他們會仔細的觀察每件展
物，並與他人分享感想，我邊聽邊想著，一個城市的素質，不單單只是政府
的努力，市民也必須一起動起來，並一同攜手豐富我們的城市，高雄加油！
除了自行安排的行程之外，迪肯大學也特別為了義守的學生設計了墨爾
本週邊景點的行程，第二周我們去的景點為「大洋路」(Great Ocean Road)，
在大洋路上最令人流連忘返的，便屬那壯麗的大洋路海岸景觀，其中最引人
十二門徒石的岩礁在海浪侵蝕下，已不復舊觀，彷彿告誡著世人世事無常，
永恆難尋。
接下來的第三週，我們去的景點為「飛利浦島」(Phillip Island)，這
是世界上觀賞神仙小企鵝的著名觀光勝地，傍晚大約五、六點左右，遊客可
以坐在沙灘上露天看台，看著一隻隻的企鵝，摸黑從沙灘慢慢的走上岸來，
但我還來不及看清楚，就又隱入黑暗的樹叢中，心情就像是中獎了，又掉了
彩票一般，有機會回到墨爾本，肯定要到菲利浦島好好的再看一次企鵝！
玩遍了墨爾本，當然不外乎採購禮品，墨爾本有許多大型的 Outlet 與
平價的商店，而我最推薦的是維多利亞市場(Victoria Market)，這是墨爾
本的傳統市集，若是錯過這兒，也就錯失認識墨爾本的機會，以及一處可大
撿便宜的好地方！逛街的同時，可見到各攤位無不使出渾身解數努力叫賣，
如此一來更加刺激了購買的欲望，所以在不知不覺當中，澳幣就這樣一張一
張的離開了我的錢包了！當然最開心的是把禮物送到台灣的親朋好友手
中，看到他們高興又滿足的表情，花再多的錢也值得了！
五、 總結
一個月的時間說長不長，說短不短，或許對於一個語言學習者而言，時
間非常不足，且所學有限；但對於我來說，這段時間以來，我的英語溝通能
力迅速進步，尤其受到語言學校同學與寄宿家庭的影響，讓我越來越不害怕
以英語與他人交談，甚至能主動開口與他人互動；當然，前提是自己必須先
努力，才有辦法溝通與了解，並從中再學習。學海遊學計畫是個提升自我的

好機會，我也期許自己能不斷的進步，並把握未來出國深造的機會，培養自
己的國際觀與拓展視野。
I am glad that ISOU University provides the study abroad scholarship for students who are interesting in English. And I was so lucky that I got the chance to study abroad for one month in Melbourne, Australia. It was not only a good opportunity to improve my English but also extended my global perspective.
During this month, there were so many impressive memories which are the most unforgettable experience that I will never forget in my life.
In the following contents, I will divide my study tour experience into three parts: school life, homestay and tourism in Melbourne.
School Life
Before the study tour, students had no choice but up to the draw to decide which university to study. And the lot I drew was Queensland University. Most people know that Queensland University is very famous and it is also the top university for students who want to study in Australia. However, I changed from Queensland to Deakin
University without thinking. I was so regret changing my mind before going abroad. But after arriving at Deakin University, I could not help but falling in love with it.
Deakin University occupies a large acre which has many educational buildings and natural sceneries. The building where we learned English was full of students from all over world. Most students were from China and Korea. Also, there were many Arabian who were so nice and enthusiastic. The most specialist thing in this building is that we can see lots of people whose religion are Moslemism got together at lunch time and pay respect to Allah. I was so touched seeing them when I just did nothing but sitting on a chair.
Although they were not in their country, they sill did the same things as usual and go with their religion wherever they go. This attitude is what we should learn from them.

Deakin University offers a wide range of English language courses from beginner to advanced level. There were seven levels of general English class and I was in level five, class A. In my class, there were Arabians, Koreans, a Chinese and Taiwanese. Because I had less opportunity to talk in English with foreigners in Taiwan, so I felt so excited that we all had to communicate in English during a month. This was also the best time to improve my English speaking ability with my classmates who are not native speaker.
There were many homework and reports that we had to do and the most impressive report for me is the “Monopoly Game.＂ This report had to be finished by a group and my group members are Arabian, Korean and me. This meant that we all had to discus in
English! At the beginning, I was so nervous whether I could understand each other or not but I still felt so pleased even though it was a little bit hard to speak correct English when doing this report. Nevertheless, we did it! We not only did a good job on this report but also knew each other more deeply after our cooperation. I think this is the most unforgettable school life for very one when studying abroad. Because you can improve your speaking ability and make friends from everywhere at the same time.
Homestay
I felt so lucky that I had the opportunity to stay in homestay when studying abroad. After getting the information about my homestay family when I was still in Taiwan,
I felt so excited and a little bit nervous. Because it was my first time to stay in other people＇s home for one month. Moreover, it was in other country! Before going abroad, I started to afraid whether I can adapt to a new environment or not and how is my homestay family. However, after meeting my homestay family in Melbourne, all of the worries were gone! During the month, we all stayed together with laugh!

There are three members in my homestay family. Home father, James, who is from Italia and his occupation is an electrician. Home mother, Mela, who is from
Philippines and she is an administration officer so has many dealings with international students. Their daughter, Jemelle, is a high school student now. They live in a lovely, large, modern, up market home in a leafy suburb of Melbourne. The environment created in the home lends itself to providing excellent accommodation for my best friend, Monica and me. We all enjoyed staying in the sweet home so much!
The most impressive thing in homestay was the meals which were cooked by my homestay parents. Homestay father and mother are such cooks that they cooked lots of exotic food including local food, Italian food and Asian food etc. This is the reason why
Monica and I always did nothing but waiting for the time for dinners! In this period, I changed my diet habit a lot. I prefer eating oatmeal and milk instead of greasy breakfast and had sandwich and fruit in lunch time. I became healthier but I gained four kilograms in one month! I can say that staying in homestay can not only improve your English but also gain your weight in a short time!
There was a special experience which was seeing a movie in a theater. The movie “Harry Potter 6＂ was in theaters when we were still in Melbourne. So my homestay parents took us to the theater to experience the different feeling of seeing movies outside of Taiwan. However, it was really hard for me to understand the entire story without captions and the British accent. I felt so frustrated after seeing the movie but this experience did change me a lot. After going back to Taiwan now, I start to practice listening to the radio or TV without captions. As a proverb goes “Practice makes perfect.＂ I hope one day that I can understand the story of movies by my effort in the near future.

Tourism
It is very convenient to take the tram from homestay to the city. So we used to go to the city on weekends. Melbourne is the capital city and the business, administrative, cultural and recreational hub of the Victoria state . There are a lot of exotic restaurants, fashion boutiques, café-filled laneways, cool bars, unbeatable galleries, spacious parks and village-like inner suburbs, each with its own special character. During this month, I had been to two large activities, Pompeii exhibition and Dali art exhibition. It made me feel that Melbourne citizens are really enjoying in their life.
They can attend lots of activities in Melbourne city in their free time! I really aspire to attend activities which can improve the city atmosphere in my hometown, Kaohsiung.
On weekends, Deakin University had arranged some sightseeing around
Melbourne for ISOU University＇s students. First time, we went to the Great Ocean Road which is in the west of Melbourne. The Great Ocean Road is one of the most spectacular scenic ocean drives in the world. It is fantastic drive, not only for the scenery, but also for the winding cliff top roads. The most attractive attraction in the Great Ocean Road it the
Twelve Apostles. They are giant rock stacks that rise majestically from the Southern Ocean and are the central feature of the rugged Port Campbell National Park. We can get spectacular views of them on boardwalks, tracks, and viewing areas. It was a breath- taking cliff that I have ever seen before and I really enjoyed it!
The second place we went was the Philip Island , a place I consider one of
Australia＇s greatest hidden treasures . Because of its proximity to Melbourne, it's a popular weekend tourist destination. At sunset, all the little penguins walk up from the sea to their nests. This is Philip Island's biggest attraction. Tourists can watch penguins near the beach closely here as well. I am grateful for experiencing this event. Watching the penguins climb the beach towards their burrows was an amazing feat for these half-pint sized penguins.
Shopping is also very important to me in my tour schedules. There are lots

of outlets and malls in Melbourne. And I recommend the Queen Victoria Market. It is
Victoria's premier open-air market and offering a variety of fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry and seafood, gourmet and deli foods as well as specialty delicacies. It also has a large non-food related market, selling a diverse range of clothing, shoes, jewellery and handmade art and crafts. It is also a best place for anyone who wants to buy souvenirs for relatives and friends.
Y ou can buy everything you want in this all-in-one market! Before leaving Melbourne, I couldn＇t stop spending money buying souvenirs even though I almost bankrupted!
Conclusion
I am really glad that I have this opportunity to study and travel in
Melbourne for one month. Without the scholarship, I could not make friends from other countries, learned English with native speakers, became an independent learner, experienced staying in homestay and so on. The most important thing is being a language learner, we should not be afraid of speaking English. “Practice makes perfect.＂ Only by practicing and do not be afraid of making mistakes, we can improve our English speaking skill effectively.

目的地－陽光墨爾本！
今年七月，對我來說是個不一樣的月份。有幸申請到學海獎學金，更有幸成為第
一個去迪肯大學的學生。這一切的一切都預言著，這一次一定是一個不一樣的旅
行！
經過長時間的飛行，剛到墨爾本的我們都顯得很疲憊。十幾個小時，把我們從溫
暖的亞熱帶島與台灣帶到寒冷的南半球澳洲。南半球跟北半球氣候恰巧相反，正
值七月酷暑的台灣，明明是三十幾度的氣溫，一下子，我們全來到了只有四度Ｃ
的墨爾本。不過很幸運的是，在這將近兩個月的旅程中，我們團裡沒有一個人感
冒！（有也要說沒有）
墨爾本是澳洲的大城市，在澳洲有這麼一個說法。在還沒有設首都之前，墨爾本
與雪梨都是非常繁華的城市，也因此，對於首都之名兩個城市都是勢在必得，誰
也不讓誰！經過一段時間後的爭吵，依舊是沒有下文，沒有誰願意讓步，因此，
澳洲就折衷，選了位在兩個都市中間的坎培拉做為首都。墨爾本都市中心十分繁
華，對於對南半球比較陌生的我們，這一切都是一個新的嘗試！墨爾本主要的交
通工具有火車，電車，與公車，三車系統合一。在一下飛機時，學校就給我們一
張月票，讓我們能暢行無阻。這張票也價值驚人，要價台幣四千多元！果然澳洲
的消費指數是高出我們許多！另外，我們也聽說當地打工的時薪是三百多元，這
樣才符合消費水準。出乎我意料之外的，當地的華人十分的多，幾乎是大陸人，
韓國人，東南亞人的天下！坐一趟電車（上下課都做電車，十分方便，幾乎是墨
準的移民國家。但在十幾二時年前的時候，因為白澳政策，所以當時非白種人十
分稀少，我的馬來籍寄宿家庭的媽媽就曾經因此被歧視過！現在物換星移，都市
的亞洲餐廳是一家開過一家，連中國城都有了！不過，當地還是以白人生活方式
為主，就像在假日，他們的交通系統班次不增反減。這正是反映了白人的生活方
式，假日就是要休息。我也再次印證了，台灣真的是最多機車的國家！墨爾本幾
乎看不到機車，有的也只是重機。聽說，當地的輕型機車是不用駕照的。也許是
因為廢氣排放少，墨爾本的空氣十分乾淨，天空也常常都是湛藍一片，加上暖暖
卻不刺人的陽光，難怪每次老師都會問我們中午有沒有到戶外曬太陽！墨爾本當
地十分的乾燥，也很缺水。在澳洲大陸的中央是一大片沙漠，因此，為了節約水
源，當地政府規定每人每天只能洗一次澡。不僅如此，洗澡時間還希望能在四分
鐘內完成！這不是在開玩笑，因為我寄宿家庭的沖涼室裡就放了剛好四分鐘的沙
漏！因為乾燥的關係，澳洲餐廳的食物也好乾，番茄醬要加錢，真的有點吃不下
去。寄宿家庭裡通常會有很多寄宿生，以我為例，我家裡就有韓國人跟大陸人，
因此，大家聚在一起吃飯的時候就會很熱鬧。但因為我們聽不懂韓語也聽不懂寄
宿家庭的廣東話，所以大部分還是以英文為主，不過我也因此學到了一些韓語。
因為是馬來西亞家庭，所以我們餐桌上的食物還是以中式為主，可惜的是，我因

此都沒嘗試到西式的料理。
這次我們是在迪肯大學的語言中心學習英文，在當地來說，迪肯是一間很不錯的
大學。雖然在台灣知名度不高，但在那裡實際就讀後，我發現迪肯真的是一個適
合就讀的大學。他有四個校區，除了我們在的這個位於墨爾本郊區的校區外，還
有一個位於ＧＥＥＬＯＮＧ，以及另外兩個校區。位於ＧＥＥＬＯＮＧ的是醫學
院，比起墨爾本郊區有點偏僻。我們這個校區除了商學院外還有語言中心跟研究
生，滿熱鬧的，校區也很大，建築物富有設計感。在咖啡廳中附設微波爐區，每
到中午時分常常是人滿為患，為了微波飯盒要等好久！當然你也可以選擇咖啡廳
裡的食物，選擇很多樣但大多是西方食物。在寒冷的冬天哩，吃冷冷的食物的意
願實在不高。但是櫥窗內繽紛的色彩以及誘人的賣像，我還是點來吃過。在語言
中心裡我們進行為期一個月的語言訓練，在經過一開始的分班後，我們就各自到
各自的班級上課。班上是來自世界各國的留學生，因為當初有經過分類，所以之
後要上大學課程的學生便被分到不同區去，我們這裡是學習一般英語的班級。班
上就像聯合國一樣，出乎意料的，我們有四個台灣生，還有五個韓國人，一個大
陸人，一個伊朗牙醫，一個越南一個印尼，加上希臘籍的老師，我們是民族大融
合的結果！語言中心的課程很有趣，有一段專門的時間是讓我們自己看電影或看
書或是找老師聊天來學習英文。還有去ＣＩＴＹ上課，這是我最期待的！老師會
帶我們撘電車去ＣＩＴＹ，讓我們能深自了解墨爾本的可愛！週六週日也是我很
期待的時候，此時團內的同學就會約一約，一起出發到ｃｉｔｙ探險！８８樓，
著名的車站，舊菸樓，文藝中心，大橋，ｏｕｔｌｅｔ，維多利亞市場，動物園，
監獄，都有我們的足跡！也很謝謝兩個帶隊的老師，在這段日子對我們的照顧！
更感謝你們帶我們去看墨爾本的旅遊景點！除了之外，學校也幫我們安排到大洋
路去參觀，乍聽之下令人摸不著頭緒，到底他是真的一條路還是一個景點呢？一
條路又有什麼好觀光的呢？後來實地去了之後才發現，他真的是一條路的名稱！
大洋路彎彎曲曲的，位在山壁邊，山海交融景色非常優美。最著名的就是十二門
徒了！在圖片上看到時還不覺得有什麼，但現場親臨，那般壯闊絕不是照片或口
語能表達的！加上細狹的海峽口，這兩個景點看過絕對會令人難以忘懷！
回想起這一個月來生活的點點滴滴，從一開始的陌生到最後的依依不捨。很感謝
在澳洲曾幫助過我的人，在外地生活的辛苦不足為外人道，但我也得到許多美好
的回憶，甚至是學到更多的語言都讓我無法忘懷！這次迪肯大學之行，我可以無

Our destination is Melbourne this time. This July is a different month for me.
Because I got the scholarship and I can study abroad. All situations are mention that it will be a perfect traveling. After long time journey, we arrive Australia finally. The weather is very cold. It was only four degrees at night. My home stay family comes from Malaysia.
Home mom can cook delicious food. And she can also make cake. We study in Deakin
University which is very famous in Melbourne. It has four campuses. We are in the
Melbourne campus. Our classmates come from different country. We have Taiwanese,
Korea, china, and so on. It is very interested when we have class. We talk lots of English, play games, make a monopoly. On Friday, our teacher leads us to the city then she will introduce something for us. It can be some picture or some building. That let us to know more about this city- Melbourne, even the whole Australia. This is what I like most.
Another course is we have free time then we can choose what we what to do. Such like seeing English movies, talking English with teacher, or watching English novel. I think it is very useful. Most students don＇t like to speak English. They can do very well in reading and writing but they scare speaking English. Do you ever think about this? If we don＇t speak English, why we study abroad? This is the perfect time to practice your speaking. On the weekend, we have another plan. We go to the famous place to see which the real huge rock or go to the city. This time, I did learn a lot of things. People who live in
Melbourne are very friendly. I have good image about Melbourne. If I have choice, I will go to Melbourne again!

澳洲迪肯團學海中文心得

一開始得知入選學海時真的很高興，有種不可言喻的興奮，因緣巧合之下就
選擇了澳洲墨爾本。不過真的很擔心溝通有障礙，因為口說一直都是我很大的弱
點。不過到了澳洲，只能用英文和來自各地的朋友溝通，因為英文是唯一的溝通
語言，也許用很簡單的方式表達，但不知不覺發現說英文一點都不恐怖。
7/16~7/19
我跟 Joan(王瓊如)住在同一個 Host Family，我們的 Home pa, Home ma 分別是 Chula
和 Jenny，一開始看到他們，因為陌生所以有點害怕，但一切都是多慮的，他們
真的很親切，我們住的房子也太豪華，感覺很像住在皇室家庭。本來我認為和同
語系的朋友住一起可能會減少講英文的機會，但後來發現學習在於個人的積極程
度。我們應該積極的和 Host Family 聊天，多找機會練習對話。漸漸地，我們認
為有個伴住一起真的很幸運，可以一起上下課(因為我們的 Host Family 家離學校
滿遠的)，不僅互相照應，甚至有時候我們也可以討論英文。我們還有一個大陸
室友叫 Sarah(Joan 一個人住樓上，我跟 Sarah 在一樓住隔壁)，平常相處都沒甚麼
問題，可能因為沒有溝通的障礙吧！我們三個都會一起坐車去上課，不過 Sarah
只住兩個禮拜，因為住宿家庭的費用太高了，加上她要到澳洲念三年，所以她在
外面和同學合租房子比較便宜也離學校比較近。
16.17 日學校有新生訓練，讓來自各地的學生認識迪肯校園。大家都還有一點害
羞，卻都非常期待為期四周的課程。不過新生訓練時，大陸人出言不遜貶低台灣
人，實在很令人生氣。一開始我們大多認識韓國人，有了很好的開始。週末兩天
陳維忠老師帶我們到市區去郊遊，我們去了 ST. Kilda Beach , Victoria Market,
Melbourne Center ,DFO, Southgate ….，沿路經過很多景點，我們也稍微的對市區
有了一點認識。Flinders Street Station 和 Federation Square 是市區的中心，大家都固
定約在聯邦廣場見面。
當時大家都覺得有陳老師在真好，他可以當我們的導遊，但之後我們便能夠一個
人拿著地圖搭公車轉電車或者火車到處逛，這也是一種學習。不過在墨爾本真的
很難迷路，大眾交通工具規劃的路線很方便，旅遊導圖也很清楚的指引觀光如何
到達。
第一週 7/20~7/26

我的班級是 GE6，好像是程度不錯的班級，讓我有點緊張。禮拜一和禮拜二的老
師是 Luke，他上課的方是很輕鬆，注重小組討論，同學間交換意見練習英文。
他也常常讓我們自己找 partner 討論，接著再交換 partner，他要我們去思考差異點
在哪。Luke 的課很活潑，激發想像，我們必須思考、有個人想法。禮拜三到禮
拜五則是 Diane 教課，大家一致認為她上課很無聊，Diane 常常就是很認真的在
講解講義上的文章，同學們在下面聊自己的，比較呆板沉悶，但也不是說他不好，
只是相較之下比較學生比較不喜歡。Diane 在第一個禮拜就告知我們要分組拍
VIDEO，這真的讓我小有壓力。因為一開始組員就無法 4 有共同的認知，加上語
言不通，大家一直逃避去討論細節直到最後一個禮拜繳交期限的壓力才勉強完
成。同學之中讓我比較印象深刻的是來自韓國的 David 和 Kelsie，日本的 Kumi，
因為他們英文都講得很流利 ，我都懷疑是不是編班過程出了甚麼錯 ，我怎麼會
和他們同班。這讓我更害怕開口說英文了，有一次剛好我跟他們三個一組，我根
本沒辦法參與討論，過程都是他們三個在討論，接著老師要我發言我卻說不出
來，David 想幫我解釋又被阻止，我真的感到很挫折，部分同學也鼓勵我不要害
怕，大家都還在學習，不要害怕犯錯。David 是去年在加拿大待了一年，Kumi
在北京念國際學校，Kelsie 小時候住過美國，他們在口說部分自然而然比較好。
第一個禮拜就讓我我完全喪失信心，回到家 Jenny 都會關心我們在學校的學習狀
況，她也很常鼓勵我。她說我平常在家溝通都沒問題，可能是上課太緊張了，既
然到了澳洲就是要學好英文，不要氣餒繼續加油。7/24 星期五 Diane 帶我們去 Art
Gallery，課程中老師都會帶學生到市區參觀，但聽說別班是去 Shopping Centre，
所以這引起我們班部分同學的反彈。結果，我們參觀藝廊的過程真的很無趣，
Diane 一直解說圖畫，水墨畫、油畫…。不過這也是很難得的經驗，因為像 Shopping
Centre 那種地方，朋友間都會一起約去，相較之下就不會有人想約去藝廊。7/25
星期六我們 ISU Study tour 的 Excursion 是去 The Great Ocean Road(大洋路)，沿路
的風景很漂亮，十二門徒景色超壯觀的，登高望遠，我們都被那美麗的景象所懾
服。Scott 是我們的 tour guide，他平常在學校處理學生的事務，跟我們義守的學
生接觸很頻繁，一路上大家一起聊天，真的很棒！
7/26 禮拜天我們義守幫的決定去 Melbourne Zoo，只能說花錢看動物睡覺吧！好多
動物都在睡覺，有點失望！澳洲最有名的無尾熊竟然只有一隻，捲成一球在由加
利葉樹上睡覺。袋鼠有很多品種，是唯一比較活躍的。我們還遇到韓國團的朋友，
大家都趁周末出來玩。
第二週 7/27~8/2
每天其實就是很規律的上課，下課後朋友會約出去一起玩。但有時候我跟 Joan
顧慮到家住比較遠，怕回到家太晚小巷子超暗(我們都奔跑回家)，所以我們最常
一起去住家附近的 Knoxcity Shopping Centre，我超喜歡逛大賣場的。在學校我很
喜歡透過朋友去認識更多的朋友，不過真的還是韓國人居多，他們都很搞笑。7/29
星期三 Sarah 搬出去了，寄宿家庭在我們一起過去她新租的地方，離開時她捨不

得地哭了，畢竟也住了兩個禮拜。隔天一個韓國女生 Kate 搬進來，我跟 Joan 都
聽不懂她的發音，而且她的習慣有點差，例如：吃完飯也不會幫忙整理飯桌直接
回房間、離開後椅子都不會放回原位、早上都拖很久常讓我跟 Joan 等…，溝通
有問題加上彼此不習慣，偶爾我會小小生氣。8/1 星期六義守第二個也是最後一
個 Excursion─Phillip Island，本來第三個 Excursion 要去 Puffing Billy Steam Railway，
但後來學校取消了。菲利浦島也可稱企鵝島，照例沿路上玩過去，早早到了海灘
已經很多人坐在看台上等待小企鵝的出現了。不過嚴禁拍照攝影，因為閃光燈會
傷害小企鵝的眼睛。可能是因為我們待的不夠晚，企鵝沒有像大家所說的成群結
隊出現，只有零零星星的一小群，看得很不過癮。接著學校幫我們安排去一間中
國餐廳吃晚餐，一方面好吃另一方面有家鄉味讓我們很懷念，，大家都吃的很高
興。
第三週 8/3~8/9
這禮拜只能用一個＂衰＂字形容!
8/3 從市區回家的路上，轉車時搭錯方向，趕緊下車跑回前一站。接著公車是對
的方向也是對的，但司機跳過 3 站才讓我下車，當時我也笨笨得等司機停車沒有
去詢問，下車時我超傻眼，因為是小路所以超暗，心裡不斷想著該不會被搶劫之
類的負面想法順便臭罵司機，邊走邊哭大概走了有 20 分鐘，終於看到我熟悉的
大馬路，這次是高興得哭了。8/4 我把月票弄丟了!很沮喪…。8/5 我跟 Joan 在公
車上搭訕一個韓國高中生，因為他偶爾會跟我們搭同一班公車，所以就順便認識
一下啦!8/6 Diane 老師帶我們去 Immigration Museum，這比上次的 Art Gallery 好多
了!介紹移民當時的狀況，有遭遇自然災害被迫離開國家的，有受到政治迫害而
移民…，讓我們了解他們當時的困境。8/7 之前提到的那位大陸室友 Sarah，他邀
請我去她家吃晚餐。因為他還要在澳洲念三年，留學生生活真的很辛苦，他都會
默默流淚因為想家，我鼓勵她要加油。當天我打電話回家，台灣正逢大雨下不停
的狀況，還好我家都沒事，不過阿嬤被嚇到了!我同學家也遭殃，電話講一半他
就說他家淹水了。8/8 Home ma 買了 weekly 的票給我，很感謝她。當天我只去了
Box Hill 逛了一下。8/9 由於 Joan 她要和她的組員去拍攝 VIDEO ，所以我自己出
去市區逛，居然在 Victoria Market 遇到其他義守的朋友，大家都想說要回家了所
以去看看有甚麼紀念品可以買，不過很多都是 Made in China!大家就一起逛一起
吃飯，後來也遇到 Joan 他們，他們 VIDEO 的主題是 City tour.他們利用週末一天
出去把 Project 完成是正確的，因為最後一個禮拜我真得是忙得焦頭爛額。
第四週 8/9~8/16
這禮拜五一定要交 VIDEO，可是我的組員超級不團結，大家都一直推託,不通(我,

大陸人,2 個韓國人)，兩邊中文,韓文各自溝通，還好我們趕在禮拜四完成了。從
禮拜一到禮拜四我們每天中午都在忙拍攝，放學後還要留下來繼續寫劇本和報
告。休息時間我沒辦法和朋友們一起吃點心和午餐，也沒有跟一些別班的韓國朋
友拍照，這點我覺得很可惜!8/14 結業式，我們義守遊學團有一個小小的結業式，
下課後黃主任也請我們到市區去吃飯。吃完飯我自己坐電車回家，其他人去看足
球賽，由於我的票只能在郊區(zone2)搭乘，我在電車上差點被驗票，還好有及時
下車，我當時真的嚇死了!但這真的是不良示範。話說在機場時還真的滿感傷的，
墨爾本是我第一次出國的地方，加上我們大家在那邊也都認識很多朋友，我趁著
待機的空檔一一打給韓國朋友們 say goodbye。8/16 10:30 抵達小港機場，一個月
墨爾本遊學生活完美地結束了!
結言：我真的很高興身為墨爾本迪肯團的一員，因為我們九個成員都相處得很融
洽，回台灣後大家都想約聚餐（10/5 陳老師請我們到實習餐廳吃飯！）我在墨爾
本的寄宿家庭也很棒，也認識很多韓國朋友，我們現在偶爾還是會ＭＳＮ或寫信
連絡！ 謝謝義守大學給我這麼好的機會出國！

I was excited that I got the scholarship. I went to Melbourne Deakin
University to take short-term English course for one month. There are Norelle,
Monica, Eva, Amy, Sylvia, Joan, Michael, Eddie and I in Deakin study tour.
Michael and Eddie are the only two boys in our group. They must be very happy to be with lots of cute girls. We felt embarrassed at the first time but after few days we got along with each other. I lived in host family with Joan.
There is another roommate from China in our host family, named Sarah. We went to school to and fro together, because our host family live really far away from Deakin University. It is lucky to have a friend living together and keep company with each other. My host parents are from Sri Lanka, they are really nice and patient to teach us anything we didn＇t know before. My home-stay mother (Jenny) is a housewife, home-stay father (Chula) is a businessman. Jenny is actually a good cook. They enjoy delicacies every day but they are also health conscious, they do regular exercise in a daily basis.
For example, Chula gets up early at about 5:30 and walk along the lake that takes thirty minutes. Jenny does her exercise with treadmill. They live in a castle-like house, the appliances and decorations in their house are fashionable and delicate. Joan and I thought we were just like living in a royal family.

We had orientation at the first two days and we made lots of friends from Korea, some of them are really cute. There was also an exam to order the class by our level. Michael, Joan and I were in the same class, GE6. Half of my classmates are from Korea. There is a boy named David in my class. I really appreciate him, he is very considerate and thoughtful. I have learnt a lot from him, he taught me English and shared his experience of life with me. He had been living in Canada for one year, so his English is better than the others.
He is a really nice guy. I also knew many Korean from other class. One of them is Hayden, David and Hayden are studying religion. They are religious
Buddhists. Sometimes they also have to shave their hair. It is hard to imagine how the two handsome guys look like after shaving their hair, I think they still look good. (They are the most handsome guy among Korean group.)
There were two teachers alternating to teach us, Luke and Dianne. Luke is an interesting teacher. His class is funny so all students are excited to be in
Luke＇s class. Dianne is kind of punctilious and rigid. So we all feel sleepy during her class. I remembered one time she took us to city Art Gallery, it was so boring and tiring to listen to her. She kept explaining what did the paintings made up of and the background, while other classes were in shopping mall or follow the map doing their city excursion. So we

complained ourselves. It is also a good experience to visit gallery because people will go to shopping mall automatically but not museum or gallery. Our second city excursion was Immigration museum, it was not as annoying as the
Art Gallery but also boring. Immigration museum shows how the people who suffered from natural disasters or political oppressions or something inevitable took reactions to the problems. We felt quite compassionate for the poor people.
At school, we had dessert time(11:00~11:30), lunch time(13:00~14:00).
We ISU group were always getting together to share our foods, because everyone＇s lunch which was prepared by homestay was different. Joan and I had a healthy sandwich for our lunch, but we really got tired of eating sandwich every day. Sometimes we exchanged lunch with others even Korean friends. It was our happiest time during school time I think. I should have had to changed my class to GE4,because their teachers were more active than ours.
The biggest problem to me was hand in a video project. My group members were very lazy but I could not change group, no one wanted to prepare for the project in advance. Also, language was a big problem for us to discuss the context. We didn＇t finish until the day before the dead line. It was extremely

annoying me to make the video in such hurry, we made the video awful due to our lack of preparations.
At the second weekend, we had a scheduled excursion to the The Great
Ocean Road. Teacher Scott was our tour guide and the driver was Michael.
The views were so gorgeous that we were all stunned by the magnificent scenes. At the third weekend, we went to The Phillip Island. Before going to
Phillip Island, we guys went to “Sofia family restaurant.＂ I always said that I was the owner of the restaurant, because my name is Sophia. David liked to aske me “do you like Sofia, Sophia?＂ At the Sofia restaurant,
Italian food mainly, especially pizza and the quantity of food is pretty much and the price is okay. It is very suitable for a big group to go there, everyone shares the food. After reaching the beach, there were many people sitting around the beach already. All spectators were excited to see the small penguins. It was time for small penguins star. They are really cute and charming. They caught all the spectators＇ eye. And then we went to Chinese restaurant for dinner, we really had fun at the dinner time. Everyone chatted a lot and a little bit sorrowful because we did not have much time left. Also, we felt more homesick when eating Chinese food. The next day(Sunday) we

visited The Melbourne Zoo, the entrance fees is quite expensive. Most of the animals were sleeping, it is very boring. They are just animals in the cage and sleeping. We were just going hiking.
I really enjoyed living in Melbourne, the public transportation there is very convenient and the drivers are kind and patient to help passengers. I think it＇s unlikely to get lost there, they mark the road signs clear and the people there are friendly. I also made lots of foreign friends in Melbourne.
But I don＇t like some Chinese people, some of them despise us even said something impolite to Taiwanese. They are so proud of themselves, I do not like that. Now I still keep in touch with some Korean friends by msn. I not only learnt English but also the ways of getting along with friends. Team work is really important, we have to help each other when group members are have difficulties even in trouble.
In our free time, we went to city to have fun. We went to ST. Kilda
Beach, Victoria Market, Melbourne Center ,DFO, Southgate…
I like ST. Kilda Beach the most. It gives a feel to rebirth. What a pity! I forgot to bring my passport when I had a plan to go to the Crown casino. I also took the city circle tram which is free going around the city by myself. It is

convenient for tourists to get to know more about the city. Melbourne is really clean and everything is in order. People are casual and free. I don＇t think people will feel unease in Melbourne. I did not think of any culture shocks before because people have to find ways to fit in the new environment.
Then, you can learn more if you open your mind to try new things. We don＇t have to accept everything, just do not refuse to face challenges at the first time.
At the third week, it＇s awful. Monday I got lost because the bus driver did not let me get off when I already rang the bell. So I cried but I must be brave to find my way home. finally, I went home safe and sound.
Then I lost my monthly ticket on Wednesday. I cried again, and my home-father said to me “It＇s not the end of the day, be happier.＂ and gave me a big smile. My home-stay mom was kind so she bought a weekly ticket for me for the rest week. So everything is not too much bad. I saw a pretty cute guy on bus sometimes. And I really wanted to get to know him.
There was a good chance for me, so I talked to him. To my surprise, he was also friendly to me and gave me his msn ID. How lucky was I!

The home-stay mother cooks well, I gained weight after one month.
My mom said that my home-stay mom cooks must better than she. I miss them so much. They gave me a comfortable feeling just like real family. It was my first time to go abroad and I was in a nice study-tour. I knew many friends from different department, we had a reunion dinner on 10/05.All of this is a memorable experience that I will never forget. Thanks for ISU university giving me this chance to go abroad.

在 2009 年 7 月 14 日，升大學二年級的暑假，這個暑假我參加了義
守大學學海獎學金到澳洲的墨爾本去遊學的活動，我們這團有九個
人，兩個男生和七個女生，有一位女孩是我的同班同學。還記得我第
一次遊學是在國中，那時候是去美國西雅圖和洛杉磯，因為已經有一
次的遊學經驗了，所以並不害怕，也好期待。
在飛往墨爾本的飛機上，大家的位子都不在附近，坐在我旁邊的是
一位在墨爾本讀書的男生，跟我同年，他也是台灣人，不過是從台北
來的，他小時候先到紐西蘭讀書，然後再回台灣讀到國中，後來成了
澳洲公民，現在就和弟弟和媽媽一起住在澳洲，在飛機上他幫了我很
多忙，入關的單子一下子就填好了，也約定說好到墨爾本後，會利用
周末帶我出去玩。9 個小時的航程讓我全身痠痛，9 個小時都未闔眼
的我就為了看飛機上的三部電影，移動城市 , 回到 17 歲，和瘋狂理
髮師。
一到墨爾本，還來不及換大外套，迪肯大學的老師就來接我們了，
剛開始覺得沒有想像中的冷，在車上他們開始發資料給我們，然後講
解一下這兩天的活動，還有大約繞一下迪肯的校園讓我們知道這一個
月是在哪棟大樓上課。接著到停車場等 Home stay 來接我們，我是第
一個被接走的，我的 Home stay 媽媽她是喬治亞人 Mila，長得很高，
看起來比實際年齡還要年輕，我住離學校很近，只需要走 15~20 分鐘

就到學校了，不需要搭乘任何的交通工具，我們一起拖著行李走回
家，路上 Mila 要我開始記路，因為明天我就是要照原路走去學校上
課。到家已經很晚了，跟是本地澳洲人的 Home stay 爸爸 Michael 打
聲招呼後，大家都各自去睡了，晚上睡覺時，發現好冷噢，穿著外套
睡覺兼蓋了三件被子還不夠。在墨爾本的第一個夜晚，總是會有點寂
寞想家，不過還是大略整理一下東西就趕快去睡，明天還要提早起床
走路去學校呢！
我的室友是個中國人，從南京來的，我們一起走去學校，老師有說
澳洲的人開車比較危險又快，很多都是年輕學生駕駛，所以過馬路請
一定要小心，而且他們是靠左邊開，跟我們台灣是相反的，駕駛座也
是相反的，那邊的馬路比台灣寬大，走過去對面要分段，而且必須先
壓一個按鈕，等行人的綠燈亮了才能過。今天是分級考試，每個人拿
到的都不同，我的考試題目是 ” 鄉村人口外移到都市，對社會有甚麼
影響 ” ，好久沒用英文的我，好多單字都忘了怎麼拼，不過還是硬著
頭皮寫完了考試題目。在學校的第一天和第二天就是認識校園和聽學
校各事務的演講，首先老師要我們主動去認識 5 個來自不同國家的朋
友，於是便問這邊有哪些國家的人啊？就有人喊韓國 , 日本 , 越南 …
等，但喊到台灣時，坐在我們後面的大陸人竟然說＂台灣不要臉＂！
看來不論在哪裡，民族問題還是有的。晚上跟 Michael 一起邊看新聞

邊吃晚餐， Michael 跟我討論起台灣與中國大陸的關係， Mila 一直以
為大陸和中國是在一起的，但 Michael 知道台灣是獨立的，然後 Mila
說難怪她總覺得我和其他中國女孩有點不同，比較偏日本那邊，有氣
質和禮貌。
剛開始到墨爾本時，對這邊的天氣很不適應，因為剛離開的台灣正
值夏天，但此刻的墨爾本卻是乾冷的冬天，所以我常常流鼻水和流鼻
血，不過沒關係，我有準備很多藥，不管是維他命或退燒藥，還是胃
藥和消炎止痛藥 … ，通通都有帶！於是我吃了止鼻水和鼻塞的藥，真
的改善很多。午餐都是自己動手做三明治帶去學校，晚餐 Mila 會準
備，在這邊的晚餐總是吃得均衡又營養，紅蘿蔔 , 花椰菜和南瓜等的
蔬菜都是每天必吃的，而我們也常吃米飯，所以在伙食方面並不會有
任何的不習慣。吃晚餐時，會 Mila 邊跟我們聊天，邊出白紙來畫地
圖，跟我們說哪裡可以去購物，或是必去的美麗景點。
我住過兩個 Home   Stay ，第一個因為在生活上有些不適應與小摩
擦，所以決定在最後一個禮拜換了 Home   Stay ，第二個 Home   Stay 的
家人真的讓我印象深刻，他們都好熱情   ， Home   Mother   Trish ，是英
國人 Home   Father   Klaus 是德國人，他們總會在我要去睡覺前和出門前
給我個擁抱和親吻，而且 Klaus 和 Trish 都很會下廚。室友是兩位越南
人和一個中國人。他們家在每個禮拜二都會有大聚餐，我們會一起準

備晚餐和做蛋糕，假日早上我會和 Trish 一起去公園散步，那邊的公
園很大，裡面不只有網球場和高爾夫球場，還有烤肉區和拍婚紗照的
復古漂亮建築，有很足夠的空間可以做想要的事，真的很棒，在最後
一個禮拜的假日 Trish 和 Klaus 還開車帶我去墨爾本的鄉村地區和澳洲
一個很有名的畫家 Whiteley 的畫展看看，那邊的森林公園真的很森
林，看不到人類開採破壞的痕跡，就是保持著它大自然的風味，手上
只要有鳥飼料，鸚鵡們全部都會圍過來   還會站在你手上頭上和肩膀
上，都不害怕人類，而 Whiteley 的畫真的很特別和幽默，讓我很喜歡。
很謝謝 Trish 和 Klaus 那麼貼心在我回台灣的當天還帶我出去玩，讓我
有個很棒的回憶。
每周六學校會帶我們出去玩，第一個禮拜是大洋路看風景，在出發
之前 Mila 特別叮嚀我那邊很冷要我穿的保暖，不過很幸運的，那天
的天氣極好，是暖和的大太陽！我很喜歡澳洲這邊的大自然，真得很
美麗又壯觀。
第二個禮拜是去企鵝島看企鵝，我們坐在海邊的看台上等，企鵝會
在晚上快６點時會開始登上岸，是一小群一小群企鵝陸續上岸，而且
牠們比我想像的還要小隻，有一隻帶隊的會走在最前面，牠走一步，
其他企鵝才敢踏出一步；他退一步，其他企鵝就會跟著跳回海裡，而
且晚上的風浪很大，牠們常會被沖回海裡，看著牠們艱辛上岸的樣

子，真的令人感到很不捨卻又可愛，不過那邊有嚴格規定不能攝影，
因為閃光燈會傷害到企鵝的眼睛，所以很可惜的，我們只能將那可愛
的畫面留在腦海裡回憶，不能帶回來與大家分享。
我們是上ＧＥclass(General English)小班制，所以班上的人全是來學
英文的，大家的英文程度都差不多，不用擔心會跟不上或是沒辦法溝
通，我們班上有１５個人，分別來自越南大陸泰國和韓國，其中韓國
人占大部分。在這邊的學習很開心，課程很活躍，在比較難的文法課
後，常常會帶我們玩一些小遊戲，讓我們感到很有趣，而且那些小遊
戲對我們的英文會話很有幫助。每個禮拜也有兩次的自由時間課，你
可以選擇要去電腦教室使用電腦，ＤＶＤ教室看電影，或是會話教室
玩遊戲。而在隔周禮拜五，會去戶外教學，第一個禮拜我們是去市區
上課，小組單位跟著學習單的指示走，規定時間內要達指定地點去集
合，並完成學習單的空格，這活動是幫助我們認識墨爾本的市區。第
三個禮拜是去宜家傢俱，也是小組單位去做活動，去找喜歡且價錢合
理的傢俱，佈置學習單上規定的房間和必需品，但必須要在限定金額
內，這次活動也讓我們了解以後要怎麼幫自己的家添購傢俱和必需
品。在這邊學習英文的方式很生活化，每天都是輕鬆又快樂的去學習，
就算只是簡單的小遊戲，卻會在玩遊戲當中，不知不覺得學習到很多
東西。

這次遊學，我變得更獨立和成熟，可以自己拿著地圖就到處去闖
蕩，不害怕開口說英文，也認識了好多國家的人。在這個通訊發達的
時代，大家當然都互相留下了聯絡方式，寫 e-mail 保持聯絡，而我大
部分的朋友都是韓國人，回國後，便自己去買了書學習韓文，與跟他
們約定好明年要去韓國拜訪他們。因為我只有在墨爾本待一個月，但
是那邊的朋友們卻是要待至少半年以上，甚至是４年，所以我決定回
台灣後要持續讀英文，不可以讓英文退步，否則之後會沒辦法跟國外
的朋友們溝通。這次一起去墨爾本遊學的義守同學們也都好棒，大家
都很團結和互相照顧，我會在最後一個禮拜決定要換 Home Stay 也是
他們給我的意見，很開心能夠有這個機會參加義守學海獎學金的遊學
活動，讓我在上大學的第一個暑假是過的那麼的充實與精彩！

The     report     in     English
I got the scholarship to be a study tour in Melbourne this summer vacation . There are nine people in our group , and just have two boys . One of the girl is my classmate . I remembered that I have been a study tour in America when I were a junior high student , so I won’t be afraid to be a study tour in Melbourne , on the contrary , I was very exciting and expected about that .
On the airplane , everybody’s site was dispersed . I sited with the boy who come from Taiwan , too . He lives in Taipei , and as old as me . He have been to study in New Zealand when he was primary school student , and went back Taiwan when he was junior high , so he is a citizen of Australia , and study in Melbourne now . He gave me a big help to write a sheet about through customs , and we make a deal that he will take me to go around Melbourne on weekends .
When I just arrived Melbourne , I thought it was a really cold and dry city , because Taiwan is summer now , so I couldn’t get used to the weather here . I had a running nose and nosebleed everyday on the first week , but it was ok , because
I had brought every kinds of medicines , after I took the medicine about running nose , I became better and won’t have nosebleed anymore !
I have lived in two Home Stay . I can’t get used to the first Home Stay , so I changed the Home Stay on last week .
My first Home Stay mother Mila is come from Georgia , and father Michael is local . I have two roommates , they all from
China .
I have to prepare my lunch by myself , I always made sandwich and brought some fruit or cookies as my lunch . Mila will prepare the dinner , she always use the dinner time to chat with us , she will drew a map and told us where to shopping , or some scenic spots we must to go . Michael is a man of great learning , he knows lots of things . Sometimes , we will having dinner when watching News . Mila though that
Taiwan and China is the same , Michael correct to her that
Taiwan is independent , and Mila suddenly realized that’s why she felt I am very different from other girls who come from China .

She though I am more polite and gentle , just like Japanese girl !
My second Home Stay family are very passion , even though
I just to get along with them for one week , they still make me feel very impressive . My second Home Stay mother Trish is from England and father Klaus is from Germany . They always kiss me and give me a hug before I go out or go to sleep ,
I love the kiss and hug they gave me , it make my heart warm . I also have three roommates here , two of them is from Vietnam , the other one is from China .
We will have a big dinner on Tuesday , Trish and Klaus’s children will have dinner together with us . We will prepare dinner and make a cake together . It will be very boisterous on this day .
On weekend morning , I will go to the park to exercise with
Trish . The park there is very spacious , it has driving range , tennis court , and also have a place to BBQ !
The last day I stayed in Melbourne , Trish and Klaus took me to the country side , and saw Whiteley’s art exhibition . The virgin forests here is very beautiful , they protect it very well and leave what you find . You won’t find human destroy or to exploit here . The parrot here won’t afraid human , you just put some sunflower seeds on your hand , and they will surround you , some of them will stand on your hands , shoulders , even your head ! Whiteley is a artist from Australia , his paintings are full of humorous , make me go in for it . It is so sweet that Trish and Klaus gave me this wonderful memory before I went back to Taiwan .
Every weekend , we will have a one - day tour with Deakin
University English Language Institute agency study tour assistant teacher Scott . Thanks for him to help me changed my Home
Stay , and went to take a look before I lived in .
We went to the Great Ocean Road on first weekend . Mila told me that it will be very cold near the ocean and asked me to wear more clothes to keep warm , but fortunately , the weather on that day was very well ! It was full of sunshine and very warm ! The scenery there was magnificent !
The other weekend , we went to the Phillip Island to see the

penguin . The penguins were really tiny and cute . They have a leader , they will follow the leader no matter it go forward or backward . But it was so pity that we couldn’t take a picture there , because the photoflash will hurt their eyes .
We had a placement test on the first day we went to school .
The topic I got is to write an essay “ More and more people move to the cities from countryside , what will impact our society ” . I haven’t practiced my English for a long time before
I went to Melbourne , so I have forgot lots of words , but I still try my best to finish the writing .
I studied at GE4 class . Our class have 15 people , they all from different countries , they are from Vietnam , China ,
Korea , Thailand , and United Arab Emirates (UAE) . Everyone have to use the same language “ English “ to communicate , and we didn’t afraid of speak English with each other , because we know that we are the same , all of us were learning
English here .
Studying in Melbourne is very different from Taiwan . The class in Melbourne is more funny and lively , not like Taiwan .
The class in Taiwan is very ceremonious , students just sit on the chair and write notes until the class over . It is very boring and too serious , not like in Melbourne . We can learning by games , DVDs , and computer . The lessons are more animated here . I like this way to learn English . It’s is relaxed and happy , and I think it is a good way to learn English , too .
We have an outdoor education on every fortnightly Friday .
The first week , we went to the city , everybody worked with the group and followed the worksheets . We should go to the place that worksheets appoint and answer the questions . For example , went to the department store and found the perfume and wrote down it name and price . This activities helped us to know the Melbourne city .
The third week , we went to IKEA . Our mission this time was : we have a budget of $30,000 to spend , and we should follow the worksheets to buy furniture and other necessities for our house . This activities let us knew how to decorate and to buy usually durable items for our house .
This trip make me become more mature and more independent .

It is so exciting that I can go everywhere just by map !
I met lots of friends from different countries . It’s really cool to know other cultures like Korea and Vietnam , and different countries people speak English have different accent is really funny .
Most of my friends will stay in Melbourne at least six months , even for four years , but I just stayed there for one month . I afraid that if I didn’t keep practicing my English , we may be hard to communicate with each other . I met lots of Korean friends when studied in Melbourne , so when I back to Taiwan , I decide to learn the Korean by myself . I went to bought some books for learning Korean . I promise my Korea friends that I will go Korea to visit them next year !
The group we went to Melbourne together is really good , everyone is united and can take care of each other . Thanks for them gave me the advice to change my Home Stay , so that I can have this chance to know Trish and Klaus !
It’s really glad that I-SHOU University can gave me this chance to become a study tour in Melbourne . So that my first summer vacation in college life could be so rich and colorful !

澳洲報告
學校舉辦了學海獎學金，入選者可以參加為期一個月的英文之旅，當時我抽
到的是澳洲。事實上，我一開始的意願並不是澳洲，但是當我回來台灣之後，我
絲毫沒有一點後悔之意。我覺得這是一趟很棒的旅程。
當我有機會可以參加這趟旅程，一開始的我，其實是難以置信。之所以會難
以置信，是因為我的英文能力是不好的；但是也是非常開心的，因為出國遊學一
直是我的夢想，我並沒有想到這一個夢，竟然可以圓的這麼快，很謝謝學校。這
樣既緊張又開心的心情，似乎對我投下了一顆前所未有的震撼彈。
當我們所搭乘的飛機抵達澳洲時，有兩位迪肯大學的老師，前來接機並且安
全的把我們這一群台灣人送往迪肯大學，好讓寄宿家庭的父母前來接送。在車
上，這兩位老師跟我們解釋下禮拜一上學時，所需要攜帶的文件與資料。當我們
抵達了迪肯大學，我的心情非常愉快，也很期待屬於我自己的寄宿家庭。我的寄
宿家庭父母是年紀稍長的父母，以及一個我唯一的室友，他來自於越南，比我小
一歲，他跟我說：他必須在那邊完成 4 年的大學學業，所以他非常想家。
距離正式開學日還有幾天的時間，於是大夥決定要利用這幾天的時間，一探
究竟這個既陌生又安全的城市，墨爾本。我們決定先在迪肯大學集合，在討論我
們所要前往參觀的地方。隨行的老師，陳維忠老師，由於住在城市內的旅館，所
以早已探究了不少地方。當天他帶著我們一群人，細細品味這一個陌生卻漂亮的
墨爾本。墨爾本是個交通發達的城市，大眾運輸設計的相當出色，在城市內可以
搭乘電車到任何地方，除了電車之外，還提供了城市電車，這一輛城市電車是免
費的，他的路程即是繞城市一圈。這幾天的探路之旅，可說成果相當豐盛，我們
了解了城市的大致情況，也去玩了不少地方。
接著就是第一天的開學日，當我們抵達學校，我們有一個分班的考試測驗，
測驗方式是寫作，但是大家的題目都不同。當我們完成了考試吃完了午餐之後，
迪肯的老師帶著我們去參觀校園，了解了校園大致的狀況。第二天，是聽各處室
說明其服務項目，讓我們更了解我們可以運用的資源有哪些。到了第三天，終於
和班級導師見面，我被分配到班級 GE5B，我們有兩位老師，他們的名字分別是
Pattie 以及 Annie。老師分別說明了上課的要求、作業內容以及最後一周測驗的內
容。Pattie 要求我們在上課期間絕對不可以說自己國家的語言，否則就必須付 50
分的澳幣，以代表處罰。
第一次上課，老師就先要求我們要玩一個遊戲，這個遊戲的目的是要我們互
相記得彼此的名字。在玩完這個遊戲之後，大家也就熟識了起來。我的同學分別
來自韓國、中國、印度尼西亞、越南以及伊朗。
Pattie 教我們文法、閱讀以及聽力；Annie 教我們口說以及寫作。
在文法的部分，我們並非在黑板上談兵，老師會先說明文法的使用時機、如

何使用以及使用時應注意的事項，當老師解釋完之後，她會一一點名，要求每個
人都要個罩一個句子，以確定每位同學都知道如何正確使用此文法，在這之後，
老師會設計一個遊戲，而這個遊戲的內容就必須使用當時所教授的文法去造句，
如果這個文法有特別著重動詞或者形容詞的使用時，老師會要求，不可以重複使
用同一個動詞或者形容詞，重複者則必須多造一組句子。例如，當時的所上形容
詞比較級以及最高級時，所使用的方式就有點類似看圖說故事，分組後，每組有
各自所屬的圖卡，每個人的圖卡都不相同，而我們則必須找出不同之處，並使用
形容詞去比較出這些不同之處，一個形容詞只能使用一次，各組組員必須互相監
督每個祖原所造出的句子是否有符合上述條件，如果沒有則必須多造出一組句
子。另外一個例子則是上動詞型態的變化，例如完成式。首先我們必須分成兩組
競賽，每組的每個人都必須參與，比賽形式，即是比手劃腳，猜句子。老師有準
備圖卡，圖卡下方有一串句子，上台表演的組員必須依造句子做出容易猜出來的
動作，好讓其他組員猜對其句子內容，當第一位組員完成任務，就得接棒給下一
位組員，比賽的同時，也可以訓練我們對這一個文法的熟悉程度，也可增加我們
的反應能力，我覺得是個不錯且富有樂趣的教學方式。
在閱讀以及聽力方面，所採用的教學方式，則與台灣比較雷同。在閱讀方面，
我們要試著了解每一個段落所要傳達的意思以及每一個問題所要的解答，然後從
中尋找。在聽力方面，則是注重聆聽關鍵字的能力，例如在問句中的 WHAT、
HOW、WHERE 等這些都是了解問題所要問的解答是關於哪一方面的，接下來是
主詞的部分，問人的話是問誰，如果不是人，就必須聽清楚是關於事情，還是物
品或者動物。這些都是與台灣的教學方式比較類似的。
在口說的部分，我們必須訪問一位住在澳洲很久的人，可以是當地人也可以
是移民者，或者有很長一段時間生活於澳洲的人，最後一個禮拜則須上台報告。
我們必須使用投影機報告，如果可以的話，附上受訪者的照片會更好。首先要設
計問題，這些問題要包含家庭、工作、興趣、旅遊以及生命中最重要的事件。每
一個組題必須至少發問 3 個問題，加以整理之後，自己必須熟悉問題以及回得者
的答案，到時必須上台陳述給每一位同學知道。報告時並非把問題及答案都放上
投影機上，而是必須整理出一條時間表，在利用時間表去陳述。我覺得這一項作
業，訓練了不只有口說，還包括聽力、膽識、台風等。是一項挑戰性很高的作業。
在寫作方面，首先教我們閱讀文章，找出主題句，在分析每一個段落所以傳
達的意思。接著教我們如何鋪陳一個完整的文章，每一個主題中如何延伸出相關
性並且具影響力的主題或者研究數據，讓整個文章更具說服力。
在語言學校的教學方式是很注重小組團隊的，所以我們還有另一項小組作
業，我們必須設計一個屬於迪肯大學的大富翁遊戲。設計時可以參考老師所給的
資料，或者利用網路搜尋資料。各小組必須討論地圖的內容、機會和命運卡的設
計、遊戲中金錢的分配、規則內容等，以及分配工作。當完成了作品之後，必須
寫一份 3 到 5 頁的報告，老師已經設計好問題，必須將問題回答完整。
除了這些我們也有 ILC 時間，這是給我們養成自主學習的習慣所安排的，在

這一段時間可以在討論室中討論作業或者玩遊戲、也可以到電腦教室使用電腦，
但是網頁必須是能夠學習英文的、更或者可以去閱讀室觀賞影片或者借閱讀本。
除了學校生活之外，學校也安排了假日的旅遊生活。我們在學校的安排之
下，去了大洋路以及飛利浦島。大洋路主要是觀賞那時十二座大石柱，沿途的風
景美不勝收，十二座大石柱更是壯觀的不得了。而飛利浦島主要是觀賞野生企
鵝，在飛利浦島的企鵝是世界上最小的企鵝，相當可愛。我非常喜歡這兩趟學校
安排的旅遊，處處充滿驚喜。
這是一趟很棒的澳洲遊學之旅，學到的不只是英文，也學到生活的樂趣。

I had a rare chance to study English in Australia. This chance is from my university,
ISO. Before I went to Australia, I felt terrible because my English skill is very poor. How dare I go to Australia?
I had ten partners including nine students and a teacher. We felt embarrassed at the first time but now we are the best partner in this study tour.
When I arrived in Australia, I met two nice teachers. They took all of us to Deakin
University and then my homestay parents took me home. My homestay parents are nice and warm. We are like a really family. We could not communicate well at the first time because I could not understand all sentences they told clearly. Luckily, my home mom can speak Chinese so when I had sentences or vocabularies that I can not understand, she often explains them for me. We often chat after dinner so I learned a lot of cultures in Australia.
They also took me to the local restaurant, Sophia. The restaurant is famous and the food is very delicious. They took me to Crown and talked some stories about Crown. They took me to the beach and the special places in Melbourne city. We also went to the biggest department in Chadstone.
My homestay father likes to cook so most of my dinner was prepared by him. He is from Malaysia. He often cooks some Malaysia traditional food and some western food. It is very delicious. My homestay mother is from Singapore. She is good at cooking Chinese meat. I miss them.
I was a student in GE5B. I had two teachers, Pattie and Annie. Pattie is an interesting teacher and she always had a lot of ideas to make us laugh. Annie is more serious than
Pattie but she is very kind. I also had 12classmates, Nam, Clara, Violet, Jimmy, Yu ran,
Wei Wei, Sylvia, Ayub, Min A, Giraffe, Owen, a dentist who I can＇t spell his name and me.
When I was in Pattie＇s class, we could not speak our own languages. If we speak our own languages in Pattie＇s class, we will need to pay 50 cent to her. Three of our classmates paid 50 cent to Pattie including me. It is an interesting experience and hard to forget.
Pattie taught us grammar, reading and listening and Annie taught us speaking and writing.
When we learned grammar, we had to speak every sentence to each of my partners.
It is different from Taiwan. We had to write all sentences in Taiwan but we had to speak all sentences and you could not repeat the same adjective and verb in Australia. If you use the same word, you will need to make double sentences.
When we learned reading and listening, they told us that you need to find the key

words and then you will be easier to answer questions. I think these parts are same in
Taiwan.
Speaking test is to interview a person who has lived in Australia for a long time.
After interviewing, I need to introduce the person who I interviewed to everyone. You need to show the picture of the person who you interviewed and make a timeline to talk about the person.
I interviewed my homestay father. He is a clinical nurse specialist and he likes gardening, watching TV, reading novels, and talking with old friends.
After I finished writing class, I know how to write and organize a good article.
We also needed to write journal everyday and record how often you practice English a day. We also had a project to finish. We had to design a game named Monopoly. It based on campus of Deakin university in Australia. We needed to discuss the map, buy stuffs we need, share jobs and you needed to finish a report about all ideas and process in Monopoly.
I often enjoy in class because we learned from games. We also worked in a small and different group in every class. I like all my classmates because we had a good time in
Australia. We experienced a lot of things together.
We had one day tour on Saturday. We went to the Great Ocean Road on first
Saturday. I experienced breathtaking coastal views, lovely seaside towns, koalas in the wild, lush rainforest and the Twelve Apostles. It was a long distance to arrive there but the landscape is very beautiful. I did not want to close my eyes because I did not want to miss it. When we arrived koala in the wild, we were all very excited because we can see wild koala. There are also many birds and they will stand on your should. It is very interesting but I am afraid because I am afraid of birds＇ feet. When I saw birds came here, I ran fast.
It was a terrible experience to me but I am still happy because koala is not in the zoo. The natural environment is very spectacular. The sea is very clean and the mountains are green.
You can see a lot of stars at night. The world seems to be silent and makes people comfortable.
We went to the Phillip Island on second Saturday. There is the smallest penguin.
There is an observatory which is only for watching penguins. We stayed at the observatory and waited for the penguins. We are lucky because some people say that sometimes these penguins will not appear but we watched a lot of penguins that night. These penguins are so cute because they are small and the actions are stupid. I think that we spend time and money to watch these cute and stupid penguins but it is worthy. They are cute but they are wild animals so you can not close them. They are still fierce. When you watch them, you can not take pictures because their eyes will get hurt.
We had a good teacher to follow and take good care of us. His name is Scott. He always joins us and he also does something interesting to entertain us. The car driver is

also a good tour guide. He always talks something about the places where we went. We can understand the local places and have fun. We had a nice trip because of the two guys.
We went to Victoria market and buy some souvenirs. It is likes traditional market in
Taiwan. There are many goods. You need to search the cheaper salesman or you will buy the more expensive goods.
We went to the Melbourne Zoo. There are many different animals and some animals are only in Australia. Platypus is my favorite animal after I visited the Melbourne Zoo. I don＇t know the reason why. I just like it after I watched.
I went to the Melbourne Museum with another partner. We saw many exhibitions, got more information and learned a lot.
I do not go to the highest building. I think I am like a fool. My friends said that the view is very beautiful. It has different aspects in the morning and at night. They said that the view in the morning is more beautiful than the view at night.
Before I went to Australia, I thought that I just went there and learned English. After I went to Australia, I learned not only English but also other things that I didn＇t expect. To learn is not only in school. You can learn a lot of things from your life. It is up to you.
Learning is a long trip and it does not have the terminal. All things are big eruditions.
I lived in Australia for one month. There are many people from different countries so
I understand not only life in Australia but also lives in other countries. It opens my view. I think that the part of Australia is the same in Taiwan because there are many different people who live or work in Taiwan. You can see different people and they meet in
Australia. Maybe they are couple. Maybe they are friends. Maybe they are other relationships. No matter what kinds of relationships they are. They are the people who live in Australia and this is their life. If you live in Australia, you will not feel bored. It contains a lot of different cultures and the different cultures become the only culture which belongs Australia.
A lot of people pay attention on their lives. Sometimes, they study hard. Sometimes, they work hard. Sometimes, they enjoy their free time. To do the right thing at every moment is the most important.
My English is getting better than before after I went to Australia. After I came back, I think that language is a tool and it will make our life more wonderful. Now when I learn
English, I already do not feel stressed. I want to learn English well and if I have another chance to go aboard and learn English, I will. It is very interesting and learns more things.
It is a nice study tour and I will never forget it.

澳洲迪肯大學團中文心得

從決定報考，到抽籤，再到啟程，甚至是最後的回國，都為我自己的人生中，
留下美好、深刻的回憶。從以前就覺得自己的英文不是很好，所以當考完學海時，
大家問我有沒有可能考上，我的答案永遠都是「不會吧！班上的其他兩個人比較
有可能吧！」也因為覺得自己不可能考上，所以放榜的那一天，我連去查詢都沒
有，是隔天朋友告訴我這個消息，我才知道。剛聽到時，非常的驚訝，也非常的
開心，但之後卻開始擔心，因為對自己的英文實在沒有什麼信心。
第一次的說明會，是要讓我們決定去哪間學校。但所有的學校我都沒聽過，
所以我是憑藉自己想要去哪個國家來選擇。美國我覺得手續非常麻煩，所以完全
沒把他放在自己的選擇中，只有出去抽了赫爾大學、跟昆士蘭大學，但都沒抽中，
這時也只剩下迪肯大學。雖然當時沒有很開心，但整趟旅程下來卻很開心。
現在澳洲是冬天，且電壓又跟台灣不同，再加上航空公司規定每個人只能攜帶二
十公斤，因此行前的準備，讓我非常的困擾。
在前往澳洲的途中，我們在香港的過境旅館，停留了一個晚上。由於太過興
奮，整個晚上幾乎都沒睡覺。到達墨爾本時，已經是當地的八點四十分。等我們
出關後，迪肯大學的老師先帶我們到學校，再讓寄宿家庭的爸爸或媽媽帶我們回
家。
我是由 home 爸帶我回家，沿路上我們聊了一下。這才發現其實他有兩棟房
子，難怪我的寄宿家庭的簡介上，只有寫他跟他女兒的名字。一回到家，home
裡面有電視、沙發、一個大衣櫃、一個小衣櫃，還有兩張書桌，且空間也很大。
唯一的缺點，就是只有床的上方，才有暖氣。隔天早上，home 爸教我怎麼坐公
車去學校，因為要趕七點半的公車，所以六點就要起床準備並做早餐，起床的那
但過完一個月後，又讓我有了不同的想法。因此我把它分成幾部分
寄宿家庭
我的寄宿家庭，在整體上來說，還算可以。交通方便（有火車，也有公車）、
非常自由，且附近還有兩個購物中心，其中一個還被說成是「南半球最大的購物

在飲食方面，我的 home 爸跟 home 媽都是印尼人，所以他們煮的料理都非
常的中式，每天都是白飯，且連粽子跟餛飩都出來了。雖然一開始非常開心能吃
到中國菜，但兩個禮拜後，我開始羨慕別人有牛排、比薩、義大利麵、烤鮭魚可
以吃，因為這才是我到外國想體驗的食物。
在與他們相處上，大部分都是 home 爸在照顧我們。因為 home 媽的姪女，
在這裡唸大學，且 home 媽要照顧自己讀高中的兒子，所以把另一棟房子都給留
學生住，並讓她姪女管理，導致我根本沒有跟 home 爸 home 媽住在一起。但每
天晚上，home 爸還是會帶飯過來，且看我們一下。如果早一點回家的話，就可
能會碰到。一剛開始，因為覺得自己英文不好，且怕被限制洗澡的時間，所以還
很開心。但之後，開始覺得很無聊，沒有人可以聊天，每天吃飽飯，就只能回到
自己的房間，且有時候有事要找 home 爸，也很麻煩。
在待人上，我覺得我的 home 爸很和善，有一次我問他附近有沒有超級市場、
怎麼走，結果他就說他要開車帶我去。某一次和其他室友聊天，才知道 home 爸
都沒帶他們去過超級市場，讓我頓時覺得很不好意思。但 home 媽我就不這麼覺
得了。一開始我覺得她還蠻和善的，但之後因為 Sophia 跟迪肯的老師-Scott 說我
沒跟寄宿家庭的父母住在一起，使得她很不開心，開始對我的態度不是很好，且
在最後一天要回家時，還趕我。這成為此次行程中一個不太愉快的汙點。
迪肯大學
進入學校的第一天，老師帶我們參觀校園。在參觀時，我的腦袋裡只有一個
想法「哇!這才像我在電影裡看到的大學。」他們的校園真的很大，到處都可以
看到看板，上面有地圖並標識出你現在的位置。因為我才剛到這個地方，所以我
都會隨身攜帶校園地圖，避免自己一直在同一個地方打轉。而在這間學校中，負
責帶領我們的老師是 Scott 和 Leesa，他們非常的有善，也很熱心的幫助我們。只
要我們有任何的問題或困難，他們都會馬上幫我們解決。但有時候他們處理問題
的速度太快，讓我們有點措手不及。寄宿家庭的事，就是一個例子。當 home 媽
看到學校的信件時，馬上跑過來問我到底是怎麼跟學校說，且要我隔天馬上去跟
學校解釋。那時我真的被嚇到，且完全沒有心理準備。
說到這邊的課程，我真的覺得很有趣，跟台灣的上課方式完全不一樣。我的
班級有三個老師，分別是 Neri、Michelle 和 Matt。Neri 主要是教我們班聽力的，
Michelle 主要是教我們閱讀跟文法，而 Matt 則是教寫作的。他們都是很好的老師，
且也都很年輕。在課堂中，他們常會利用遊戲來加深我們的印象或是讓同學間彼
此有互動的機會，這也使得課程變得更好玩，而不呆板。另外，Matt 也曾帶我們

班去市區和 IKEA 上課。這種上課方式是我最喜歡的，不需要一直坐在教室裡，
也可以學到東西。在我們的課表中，還有另一個特別的課程，叫做「ILC 時間」。
在這個時間裡，你可以選擇在 conversation room 裡和朋友玩遊戲、討論報告、找
一些自己想要的講義，或是到 ILC 教室看影片、做聽力練習、借與自己級數相等
的書籍，回家閱讀。我一直很想利用這個時間看影片，來增強自己的聽力。但每
次這個時間都要拿來跟朋友討論報告，所以到此次行程結束時，我一部影片也沒
看到，讓我覺得非常可惜。
至於回家作業，Neri 規定我們班要每天寫日記，而 Michelle 和 Matt 是有時候
會另外派作業給我們。大致上，作業對我來說，都還蠻容易的，但唯獨日記，我
每次寫的時候，都想睡覺。剛開始都會抱怨為什麼要每天寫，且寫的速度也很慢，
但之後，卻發現自己越寫越快，大概是自己的 writing 進步了吧!!
休閒
學校在某兩個星期六，帶我們到「大洋路」和「企鵝島」玩。跟我們一起去
的，還有 Scott。他對我們真的很好，跟我們一起出去，還帶了一些零食跟水果
給我們。我們覺得很不好意思，所以拿零食分他吃，這時才發現，原來他吃素，
所以我們的零食，有些他也不能吃。不管是大洋路，還是企鵝島，沿路的風景都
很漂亮，且最讓我興奮的事，是我們在去大洋路的路上，看到野生的無尾熊。這
兩趟的旅程中，唯一美中不足的是沒看到野生袋鼠。另外，聽說原本要去的 Puffing
Billy 小火車被取消，也讓我覺得很可惜。
下課後的空閒時間，大部分會跟其他人一起出去，但有時也會自己一個人出
去玩。因為沒跟任何人住一起，且跟他們的寄宿家庭完全是不同方向，再加上墨
爾本很早就天黑，所以有些人會想要早一點回家。這時，就只能自己一個人去玩
或到處走走。
假日則會跟其他人先約在聯邦廣場，之後再討論去哪裡。我們一起去過動物
園、維多利亞市集、博物館…等。那邊的動物園比我們這邊的任何一個都還要大，
但相對的票價也很貴。而維多利亞市集是一個可以挖到很多寶物的地方，且相同
的東西在這裡買會比較便宜。我很多要送朋友的紀念品都是在這裡找到的。
結語
此次的旅程中，讓我學習到很多東西，也讓我交到了很多朋友。更讓我了解到「出
外靠朋友」這句話的意思。因為我們帶隊老師-陳維忠老師，只有待在墨爾本一
個禮拜，所以我們九個人，需要互相照顧、照應，有困難時更要互相幫忙，因此

我覺得我們九個人的感情應該會比別團更好。另外，因為交到很多外國朋友，想
要跟他們保持連絡，所以我想我應該繼續加強自己的英文能力，以便能更流暢的
與他們溝通。
When I heard I got school＇s scholarship, I am so excited, but then I started to worry.
Although I got this opportunity, but I still feel my English is so poor. I worry that my homestay parents, my teachers, my friends can＇t understand what I say and I also worry that I can＇t understand what they say. The language is one of my worries. When I decided to go to Australia, other worries also start to appear. Australia is winter now and the voltage is different from Taiwan. The most important thing is that H1N1 is so popular in Melbourne. Everything let me worry, but it was solved when I arrived in Australia.
Therefore, I have many impressive memories and different feelings in this month. I separate some parts to share with everyone.
Homestay
When we arrived in Melbourne airport, Deakin＇s teachers already waited for us.
First, they took us to the Deakin, and then, we were took by our homestay parents. I was took by my homestay father. We chatted about his family. In that time, I knew that he have two houses, so my homestay introduction only write his name and his daughter＇s name. I consider that his family is a single parent family before we chatted. In this chat, I also knew that they are immigrants and they are from Indonesia. My homestay father also told me that they had been to Taiwan. I was very surprised when I heard that, because I feel that Taiwan is not a very big country and it is a long distance from Australia to Taiwan.
My homestay father showed me my room when we arrived home. My room is big and comfortable. There are one television, one sofa, two desks, two chairs, two wardrobes and two bedside cupboards. Some of my roommates envy me, because their rooms are smaller than mine. One of my roommates told me that the room was my homestay father＇s room before his niece comes to Australia. This news also made me surprised.
Next day, my homestay father taught me how to take bus to school. On the way to the school, he told me that my homestay is close to a very big shopping central and the traffic that I go to city is so convenience. In that time, I feel I am so lucky. But when I heard other friends that they live in the same direction and they can go home together, I am a little disappointed, because that let me feel alone.
In the part of food, my homestay mother usually cooks Chinese food, but sometimes she can make Indonesia snacks. I was happy to eat Chinese foods in the first and second

weeks, but when I heard other friends said that they ate pizza, steaks, pasta and mashed potato in the dinner, I envied them. Because I don＇t have many opportunities to eat foreign foods in Taiwan, so I want to taste their flavors. I want to eat foreign foods, but some of them want to eat Chinese foods. Therefore, I can exchange my lunch with them sometimes. It＇s interesting.
I felt my homestay father is very kindly. One day, I asked him that where is the supermarket, and then, he answered me that he can take me to there tomorrow by the car.
When I heard that, I thanked for him. After many days, I chatted with my roommates, they told me that my homestay father hadn＇t taken anyone to the supermarket before. In that time, I felt that I am so lucky. But if everyone asks me how is my homestay mother, I will tell them that I feel my homestay mother is kindly before one thing happened. After that thing happened, her attitude is not good for me.
I consider the error is made by herself in the first, so I am a little angry about her attitude.
This thing also becomes my bad memory in this trip.
Deakin
Deakin is not very like Taiwan＇s universities. Their campus is very big, so they put the map signboards in campus. Map signboards are only put in some place. Therefore, I had lost in the campus. Luckily, I bring the campus＇s map in my bag every day. Their campus has many interesting things. I think the most interesting is that you can see vendors sell fruits and clothing in the campus.
We have two teachers to contact us in the Deakin. They are Scott and Leesa. They are so friendly. If we have any problems in Australia, they will solve our problems quickly.
The first day, we arrived in the Deakin, we had a test about which classes we will go in the future. The result was that all of my friends didn＇t study with me, so all my classmates were new for me. I was afraid to communicate with my classmates in the first time, but then I felt that communicating with them was not very difficult. I only needed to speak the important words, they will understand what I said.
In the part of courses, I feel that studying here is so interesting. The courses in here are not like Taiwan＇s English class. I have three teachers in my class, they are Neri,
Michelle and Matt. Every teacher teaches me difference things. Neri teaches listening,
Michelle teaches reading and grammar, Matt teaches writing. The most interesting thing in here is that the teacher sometimes can take us outside on Friday, Matt had taken us to city

and IKEA. I like this way to learn things, because I don＇t need to stay the class all the time, I also can learn many things. The most important thing is that it doesn＇t make the class so boring. We have a special class in our school timetable. It is called “ILC time＇.
In this time, you can watch movies, practice listening or borrow English books in the ILC room. You also can discuss your report or play a small game in the conversation room. I really want to use this time to watch movies and practice my listening, but every time I have to use the time to discuss the report with my friends. I feel it is a pity.
In the part of homework, my teacher gives us a rule that we need to write the diary on
Monday to Friday, and sometime Michelle and Matt also can give us grammar homework.
I feel grammar homework is easy for me, but the diary isn＇t. When I write the diary every time, I will want to sleep and complain that why I need to write the diary in the first and second week. After two weeks, I finish my diary in the short time, I think maybe my writing is progress.
Leisure
School took us to “Great Ocean Road＂ and “Phillip Island＂ on the second and third Saturday. We went there with Scott. He treated us very well. Every time, he could bring fruits and some cookies or candies to share with us. We also shared our cookies for him, but he is a Buddhist, therefore, most of our cookies are that he can＇t eat. It is too bad. The landscapes are very beautiful on the way to Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island.
On the way to Great Ocean Road, we saw wild koalas on the tree. It＇s a special experience. But we didn＇t find wild kangaroos in this trip. It＇s a pity. So we went to the zoo tomorrow, and finishing our wish that see kangaroos. In addition, one of our original plans is that school takes us to Puffing Billy, but then it was canceled by school. When I heard this news, I was very disappointing, because I expected this trip.
After the class, I could go to city or shopping central that it＇s near university or my home with friends, but it＇s not very often, because Melbourne＇s sky is dark very soon and my homestay＇s direction is different than other friends.
Every weekend, we will wait everyone at Federation Square, and then, we discuss which place we want to go today. We had been to zoo, museum, Queen Victoria Market… etc. Queen Victoria Market is a good place to waste your time. You can find many souvenirs in this place, and the price is cheaper than the souvenir stores.
Conclusion

I want to say that I learn many things in this trip. It＇s not only about English, but also about life. Although we don＇t have teacher to stay with us in Australia but I think this is a good opportunity for me to train independence and solve problem by myself or friends. Therefore, I consider our affection is better than other groups.
Another thing I want to say is that this trip also let me make many foreign friends. I think this is good for me, because if I want to talk to them, the only language I can use is English.
Therefore, I need to enhance my English skill, and then, I can talk with them flowingly.
