Campion Geographic: Culminating Activity
Over the course of the past semester you have learned about many aspects
related to the environment that you live in. It is now time for you to reflect on
some of the ideas that you have learned about. You will do this by creating your
small edition of a magazine that will include a few short articles written by
yourselves. The topics are open to your own creativity and can come in the
form of personal opinion pieces, commentaries, and investigative reports all
must be backed by research and also draw on knowledge gained throughout the
course.
Checklist:
- 1 major feature article 500 words in length that will make up your
Headline story.
- 3 minor articles 250 words each in length that will make up your minor
stories.
- One original Political Cartoon depicting a current Canadian or Global
Environmental Issue created by yourselves.
- Pictures too support your Headline article and Minor articles.
- Other graphic features to support your articles.
- APA referencing to show evidence of research
- Reference page on the back of your newspaper
- Creativity !!!!
Possible article topics:
- Local environmental initiatives in Brampton
- Opinions on the Provincial Government or National Governments
environmental policies.
- Opinions on waste management in the Region of Peel
- Current methods of energy production in Ontario
- Comparisons to other cities or provinces in Canada or elsewhere
- Comparisons to other countries initiatives
